Job Details
The Volunteer Board Treasurer duties/responsibilities are as following:
- Is a member of the Board (see Board Member requirements below)
- Manages finances of the organization
- Administrates fiscal matters of the organization
- Provides annual budget to the board for members' approval
- Ensures development and board review of financial policies and procedures
- Develop and enforce strong internal controls and financial management policies
- Ensure accurate and complete financial reporting and proper maintenance of financial records and information/tax returns
- Regularly assess risks and whether and how such risks should be mitigated
- Keep a calendar of filing requirements and deadlines and have clear assignments (with backups) to help ensure they are all met in a timely manner
- Have the organization’s financials audited whenever required or advisable
Volunteer Board Member Job Description
Volunteer Board Member for Nonprofit that serves Military Veterans through Equine-assisted Activities. Annual commitment to serve on the Board and fundraise or donate a minimum of $1,000 each year. Attend Quarterly Meetings in-person or remotely, via telephone or video chat.
Each individual Board Member is expected to:
• know the mission, policies, programs, and needs
• faithfully read and understand the financial statements
• serve as active advocates and ambassadors and fully engage in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for Project Charlie Oscar Inc. to advance its mission
• leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve Project Charlie Oscar’s mission
• help identify personal connections that can benefit fundraising and reputational standing, and can influence public policy
• prepare for, attend, and conscientiously participate in board meetings
