OVERVIEW:
The Research Analyst will play a critical role in advancing research initiatives focused on addressing HIV and other health disparities affecting LGBTQ+ communities. This position provides key leadership in the conduct of qualitative and quantitative research, including data collection, data analysis, community stakeholder collaboration, and preparation of findings that will inform policy and practice. The ideal candidate will be passionate about social justice, public health, and intersectional research and has experience working with marginalized communities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Spearhead the design and implementation of research studies related to HIV stigma, LGBTQ+ health equity, and related topics. Assist in developing research protocols, consent forms, and survey instruments. Collect data through interviews, focus groups, surveys, and other methods, ensuring ethical engagement with participants. Summarize findings and assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and visualizations to support decision-making and advocacy. Facilitate inclusive participation in research by collaborating with community stakeholders. Assist in preparing grant proposals to secure funding for research projects. Contribute to academic publications, policy briefs, and public outreach materials. Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and community events. Other duties, as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate should have a graduate degree, preferably in behavioral sciences or in social work and two years of research experience. Ideal candidate will have a research background in HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ issues, or topics related to marginalized populations. All candidates must have strong oral and written communication skills; sensitivity to and respect for diverse cultures, sexual orientations, identifications, and ethnicities; and sensitivity to the need for confidentiality and discretion as it concerns an individual’s HIV status and other legally protected or otherwise confidential information.
