Learning & Development Specialist

The Role 

The Georgia Center for Nonprofits is seeking an experienced Learning & Development Specialist to manage the logistical and administrative responsibilities for the organization's learning events. This individual will be a tech-savvy, self-starter, multitasking professional with a demonstrated aptitude for creating and streamlining processes pertaining to learning development and program coordination. Effective cross-departmental and cross geographical coordination will be an essential part of this individual's success. We are looking for an upbeat and optimistic personality to help GCN’s learning & development department achieve its goal of attaining the highest level of stakeholder satisfaction possible. 

What you'll work on: 

  • Creating and managing a calendar of in-person, live-streaming, and other learning and development events for The Nonprofit University (NU) and additional talent development programs. 
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience as the contact for all organizations/participants in N (including Members, Non-Members, prospects, individuals and groups). 
  • Building relationships with external stakeholders to enhance customer experience for staff/employees by assisting with course registration, making recommendations, and being a subject matter expert on NU. 
  • Serving as a liaison with NU faculty: onboarding of new faculty, creating instructor agreements, providing bios and headshots for the website.  
  • Gathering and formatting data to provide visibility into training participation, trends, survey feedback, etc. 
  • Managing the logistical planning and organizing of on-site learning activities and programs (facility preparation, facilitator engagement, equipment set up). 
  • Supporting the Learning and Development team with preparing presentation decks, surveys and forms, etc.  
  • Provide event support for meetings and events led by the Talent team and other relevant learning and development efforts at GCN. 
  • Identify the department’s critical issues through the analysis of relevant data; make recommendations, implements solutions or programs, manage changes, evaluate and provide feedback 
  • Serve as an advisor and technical expert about program design, processes and system improvement. 
  • Exemplify the desired culture and values of GCN. 

Qualifications & Skills 

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field 
  • Primarily - a strong desire to help people succeed in a professional environment. This role handles creating an incredible experience for all GCN’s learning & development stakeholders through program management and operational excellence. 
  • 2+ years of experience as a Talent or Learning Coordinator or a role with similar responsibilities in a professional organization. 
  • Experience coordinating multiple learning events across multiple time zones, regions and audiences. 
  • Basic video editing skills (higher video editing or production skill-set a plus). 
  • Knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools (zoom, etc.) is preferred. 
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments effectively. 
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal. 
  • Ability in Office 365, Monday project management, Sales Force, and LMS systems preferred. 
  • Familiarity with the Nonprofit landscape is preferred. 

Work Location & Style 
GCN’s primary location is 881 Memorial Dr. Atlanta, GA directly on the Beltline, and next to public transportation and major highways. GCN has a hybrid work environment.
