JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) holds a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operational aspects of LiveSafe Resources. This position is responsible for directing operational policies, objectives, and initiatives while also serving as the supervisor for accounting, grant management, HR, and facilities matters. The COO collaborates closely with the CEO, accounting team including the Accounting and Grants Manager, Accountant, Controller, and outsourced CFO, to ensure efficient financial management while working toward the organization's mission and strategic goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership and Supervision:
- Provide leadership and guidance for HR, facilities, and all operational matters.
- Ensure efficient and effective program operations in alignment with the organization's mission and strategic goals.
- Serve as the right hand to the CEO within the organization and community
Strategic Financial Support:
- Collaborate with the accounting team to develop and maintain budgets.
- Provide financial insights and support strategic financial planning in alignment with the organization's mission and goals.
- Participate in strategic discussions related to financial management.
Grant Oversight:
- Provide high-level oversight of grant management efforts.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and provide guidance on grant management.
- Participate in strategic discussions related to grant funding.
- Review grant reimbursement requests and budgets as needed.
Operational Management:
- Address client issues and grievances, ensuring they are handled appropriately and in accordance with program policies and procedures.
- Comply with state entity requirements and manage the preparation and response to audits, applications, and operational plans.
- Oversee human resources operations and decisions regarding staffing logistics.
- Participate in coalitions, work groups, and committees on behalf of LiveSafe Resources.
Collaborations and Outreach:
- Build and maintain collaborations with other organizations, referral sources, and community resources.
- Assist in preparing grant renewals and new grant proposals as requested.
- Prepare and conduct training and presentations as needed.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Oversee program evaluation and statistical data collection for program quality monitoring.
- Collaborate with the accounting team on financial reporting and grant administration.
Mission-Centric Approach:
- Ensure that the organization's mission is the central theme of all policies and programs.
- Handle client complaints and programmatic issues that require the attention of upper management.
Other Duties:
- Collaborate with the accounting team for financial reporting and budget oversight.
- Assist the CEO in strategic planning, goal setting, and organizational development.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of financial management and program oversight.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a diverse range of individuals.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and provide leadership.
MINIMUM CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- Work experience in Business Administration, Public Administration, Grants Administration, or Accounting with an emphasis in Non-Profit Accounting.
- A minimum of seven years of successful management experience in a social service or non-profit setting, preferably with three years of supervisory/managerial experience directly related to domestic violence and sexual assault programs.
- Experience with non-profit social services programs and budget oversight.
- Commitment to a client-centered approach and excellent team-building skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license in the State of Georgia and driving record must comply with insurance requirements.
- Must complete and pass CPR First Aid Course.
- Employment is contingent upon satisfactory results of background, fingerprint, drug, and motor vehicle record checks.
