How you Will Power our Purpose (Job Summary)
As the Curriculum Specialist, you will support the EAC YMCA Branch in the development and preparation of enriching, age-appropriate curricula for children 6 weeks to 12 years old, as well as assist in the planning and delivery of program experiences in afterschool and camp programs.
You will also support the enterprise’s commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and the core character values of the YMCA. Reporting directly to the Curriculum Director, you will partner closely with other senior leaders throughout the enterprise to achieve outcomes.
Salary: $18.00 – $20.00/Hour
How You Will Make an Impact (Essential Functions)
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of curriculum supply orders for programs on a weekly basis.
- Ensure copying and distribution of all curriculum materials for programs is complete on a weekly basis.
- Organize and inventory curriculum supply overstock as needed.
- Responsible for assisting in developing curriculum for afterschool, summer camp programs, as well as a monthly supplemental curriculum packet for early education programs that follow guidelines to extend and enrich children’s experiences.
- Research and resource gathering to expand or enhance current curriculum supports (best practices in OST, understanding diverse learners, etc).
- Participate in the planning and implementation of program activities which will promote the goals of the program and encourage good health and safety practices.
- Survey and gather data on curriculum experiences and success through participants, staff, and stakeholders.
- Under the guidance of the Curriculum Director, communicate with partners to increase varied and rigorous program experiences in afterschool and camp programs (field trips, guest workshops, volunteer opportunities, etc.).
- Assist in the planning and execution of special program events including, but not limited to, National Lights on Afterschool, Read Across America, and National Summer Learning Week.

- High school graduate or GED equivalent with a minimum of 2 years of professional work in early childhood or elementary education, child development, curriculum, out of school time, or another related field.
