Our Mission: The Study Hall is an after-school and summer program that serves K-5th grade children in metro Atlanta offering an educational and enrichment curriculum that equips children to achieve sustained personal and academic success.
Role of an Academic Coach: In addition to acting as an educator, motivator, and mentor, you must display professionalism toward and compassion for all scholars, team members, families, visitors, etc. at all times. The Academic Coach is also responsible for managing a class of 15-18 same grade scholars, facilitate academic and culturally enriching programs, as well as, work with the Executive Director and Program Director to create and implement strategies of achievement for all scholars.
Desired Qualifications: * Must have minimum 4 years experience working with youth. (Inner City Youth preferred) * An Undergraduate Degree in Education, Early-Childhood Education or related field is preferred. * Must possess a driver's license and submit to a criminal background check. * Must be a leader amongst your peers, work well with others, and enjoy working with youth.
Responsibilities:
1. Must be Mission Driven and Scholar Focused!
2. Exhibit enthusiasm for all scholars, learning, and the program.
3. Manage classroom environment such as rules & expectations and communicate lessons effectively to scholars.
4. Create classroom activities conducive to the strengthening of scholars academic and social skills.
5. Manage scholar progress reports and assessments as required and academic learning folders.
6. Aid scholars in the daily completion homework assignments and projects either whole group or individual.
7. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with scholars, other staff, public school teachers, parents, and management team.
8. Share responsibility of supervision of all scholars in joint areas of the TSH campus such as outside time and during meals.
9. Aid in the daily pick up and take home transportation of scholars by driving the TSH van as scheduled.
10. Keep confidential the records and information regarding scholars, parents, and teachers.
11. Promote the STEAM initiative through active and engaging lessons.
12. Engage in physical fitness and wellness activities with scholars and facilitate enrichment club based upon own area of interest.
13. Complete other duties as assigned by Executive Director and/ or Program Manager.
14. Be positive, self-motivated, and have fun!
Salary & Benefits: Schedule 1:00pm - 7:00pm Mondays, 1:30pm - 7:00pm Tuesday thru Friday. Paid Holidays & Breaks in accordance with APS calendar, 403(b), Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, Snack & Dinner Meals, and Free Parking
