President

Central Pennsylvania Food Bank

Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Moran Company (https://morancompany.com/) is pleased to partner with Central Pennsylvania Food Bank to recruit the organization’s next President. https://www.centralpafoodbank.org/(CPFB) is a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating hunger and food insecurity in central Pennsylvania. CPFB serves as a vital link between the food industry and those in need, distributing millions of pounds of food to individuals and families through a network of partner agencies. They are committed to addressing the root causes of hunger and promoting equity in access to nutritious food. Hunger disproportionately harms neighbors and communities that have been systemically marginalized. As we work toward a future where no one in central Pennsylvania lives with hunger, we must also work against racism and other systemic obstacles that prevent people from thriving. We will listen to and learn from members of historically under-represented groups. We will value their lived expertise and experiences as we shape our charitable food network to equitably meet the needs of our neighbors. We will ensure that our diverse community is reflected in our board of directors, management, staff, volunteers, partner organizations, and donors in a manner that upholds equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Joe Arthur, the Chief Executive Officer of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, recently shared his plans to retire at the end of 2028. As part of a long-term succession plan, CPFB is now launching a search for its newly created position of President. The President will initially report to Joe for a period of assimilation and will ultimately succeed Joe as CEO. The President will work with the CEO and the executive management team of the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB), with specific responsibilities directed toward new business development and operational best practices, fund development, financial reporting and controls and other strategic initiatives.

A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Additional years of experience and certifications would be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Prior experience with governance, policy setting, and compliance experience in another large food bank or relevant business or organization, where creativity and innovation in programs are valued. Ability to govern and lead an experienced leadership team. Demonstrated ability to operate in a multilevel, mission-driven organization, and passionate about working for an organization that values and promotes EDIB. Willing to embrace the food bank’s EDIB journey. This position may directly supervise 0-9 employees.

The annual salary range for this position is $190,000 - $248,000. CPFB also provides generous benefits including employer contributions to a health insurance plan, employer contributions to a retirement plan, and generous paid time off.
