Job Description:

We seek a passionate and driven Development Officer to join our team at the Lionheart Life Center. The Development Officer will be vital in advancing our mission by creating and implementing strategies to raise annual gifts, and building deeper engagement with our established donor base while developing new community and personal relationships. This position requires a creative thinker with strong communication skills, a strategic mindset, and a commitment to positively impacting the lives of individuals with neurodevelopmental challenges.



    Develop and execute fundraising strategies to secure financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Cultivate and steward relationships with current and prospective donors through personalized communication, donor appreciation events, and other engagement opportunities. Expectation of scheduling between 15-20 cultivation meetings monthly. Identify and pursue grant opportunities aligned with Lionheart Life Center's programs and initiatives. Lionheart currently uses Instrumentl to manage grants. Coordinate fundraising campaigns and events, including donor appeals, crowdfunding initiatives, and special events. Utilize DonorPerfect management software to track donor interactions, manage gift processing, and generate donor reports. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop messaging and materials that effectively communicate Lionheart Life Center's impact and value proposition. Develop annual giving priorities and the associated collateral as needed Represent Lionheart Life Center at community events, conferences, and networking opportunities to raise awareness and cultivate partnerships. Maintain a flexible work schedule, including willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed. Continue to cultivate new and grow current community relationships with a focus on creating champions for Lionheart’s various program missions throughout the larger North Fulton/Atlanta area. Stay informed about trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising and development, and proactively seek opportunities for professional development. Uphold Lionheart Life Center's inclusivity, integrity, and compassion values in all interactions and activities.


- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, communications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related roles.

- Proven track record of success in donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

- Exude self-motivation and the ability to work independently to achieve set goals.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate a compelling case for support.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

- Proficiency in donor management software.

- Knowledge of and passion for issues related to autism and neurodevelopmental challenges preferred.
