The Scholarship Academy is located in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area and helps students effectively navigate and negotiate their financial aid and secure private scholarship funding. Scholarship Academy focuses on reducing loan debt and increasing the likelihood of graduation. The academy has helped students secure over $15 million in funding since its inception in 2006.

Role Description

This is an on-site role fellowship for a College Access Fellow. The fellowship will allow candidates to work directly with the Executive Director to learn more of the inner workings of the non-profit industry. Candidates will be involved in supporting program management, communication with students and families, and providing direct support in the management of the College Access Hub.

This position is a service program opportunity through August 2024. Hours of operation are 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM and will be expected to serve 20 hours per week.




· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with students, families, and staff

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

· Commitment from April 2024 through August 2024

· Possess some college credit

· Interest in working with high school students

· Must be a US citizen, US national or lawful permanent resident

· Ability to clear state and federal background check and fingerprint screening

· Experience working with high school students or in the education sector is a plus

By August 2024, the College Access Fellow will have achieved the following milestones:

Develop and Execute Implementation Plan for the College Access Hub:

  • Lead the recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for new team members.
  • Implement a comprehensive plan aimed at enhancing the functionality and effectiveness of the College Access Hub, with a focus on maximizing its impact.

Provide Programming Support:

  • Play an integral role in direct programming initiatives, including contributing to curriculum development, facilitating events, and providing assistance during virtual office hours.

Gain Proficiency in Non-profit Operations and Administration:

  • Acquire hands-on experience in various operational and administrative aspects of non-profit organizations.
  • Conduct research on potential grant opportunities and assisted in drafting competitive grant proposals aligned with the organization's goals and priorities. Support partnership and grant reporting, ensuring timely submission by adhering to allocated deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain a reporting calendar to streamline the reporting process and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
