GEORGIA SOCIAL IMPACT COLLABORATIVE POSITION OPENING
Position: Director
Type: Part-time Contract (20 hours per week, paid monthly); with ability to grow to FTE
Compensation: Anticipated range of $35,000 to $45,000 annually, depending on level of experience
Location: Atlanta, Georgia. Will work remotely. Some statewide travel involved.
About Georgia Social Impact Collaborative*
The Georgia Social Impact Collaborative (GSIC) was formed by a group of community leaders committed to developing a stronger ecosystem around impact investing in Georgia. By bringing together our region’s leaders, representing all sectors of our social fabric, we envision an energetic and dynamic network of resources that raises up our social impact ecosystem. GSIC is fiscally sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta.
GSIC’s mission is to develop a diverse, connected statewide ecosystem of stakeholders that are actively engaged in aligning capital with social outcomes.
GSIC aspires to:
- Identify the region’s resources, gaps and key players engaged in or interested in social impact.
- Communicate and connect businesses and investors to nonprofits and social entrepreneurs.
- Educate all interested parties on impact investing.
- Expand and cultivate the pipeline of investable opportunities for all types of investors.
- Equip ecosystem to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments.
- Accelerate the deployment of capital from private, philanthropic and public sector sources.
- Live on to serve as a dynamic and iterative community resource that helps connect capital to causes.
About the Position
In collaboration with GSIC’s Board, the Director will lead the implementation of GSIC’s strategic priorities and related tasks, with the assistance of contractors and volunteers. Primary activities will include communications, event planning and management, and developing and executing a strategy to increase participation in GSIC activities. We are seeking a strong strategic thinker with sound project management skills and keen attention to detail.
The Director should have knowledge of impact investing ecosystems, be independently motivated, analytical, and results oriented. They should be comfortable interacting with volunteers and professionals, learning about statewide policy, working with data, planning events and conducting research.
Strategic Priorities
Director will work with Board and other volunteers to collaborate in the development of and execute the strategy of the organization, including via:
Ecosystem Engagement
- Engage ecosystem-level partners from across the state in GSIC programming; field inquiries from potential partners; be prepared to help the Board to take advantage of strategic opportunities.
- Help steward external relationships with funders, partners, sponsors and other audiences.
Program Management
- Project management support for multiple convenings, including support for content development, budget management, securing speakers and developing supporting materials.
- Ensure GSIC educational programs are engaging and appropriately tailored for their target audience.
- Meeting/event logistics oversight.
- Gather qualitative and quantitative feedback on program offerings on an ongoing basis; help adapt and improve offerings based on feedback.
Communications
- Create drafts of reports and other forms of written communications. Ensure effective communications strategy and delivery.
- Oversee the development of clear and compelling content for email, website and social media communications with support from a communications contractor.
- Manage and maintain an accurate database of contacts and ensure effective registration procedures.
- Oversee the management and maintenance of the GSIC website and ecosystem map, blog and event calendar with support from a communications contractor.
Administration
- Administrative duties, including support for board meetings, drafting correspondence, maintaining files, tracking and maintaining budgets and other duties.
- Manage and work with contracted service providers.
- Craft and set up appropriate systems to execute on operations for GSIC’s recent strategic plan.
- Support board’s fundraising efforts, including proposal development and scheduling outreach meetings.
- Maintain confidential records.

Educational Programming
- Lunch and learn sessions (1-2 per year)
- Case Study development
- Resource bank page on website
- Map and report of Georgia impact investing ecosystem
Convening and Connecting
- Social Impact Happy Hours (2 per year)
- Social Enterprise Breakfasts (2 per year)
- Social Impact Job Board
- Calendar of Social Impact Events
- Site visits around the state
Communications and Storytelling
- Monthly newsletters (12 per year)
- Social Enterprise spotlights and promotion
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in finance, banking, philanthropy or a field related to impact investing; preference for experience in event management, adult /executive education, impact investing or social entrepreneurship, and/or policy experience.
- Experience working directly with a volunteer board.
- Exceptional project management skills and ability to manage strict timelines and deliverables with an attention to detail.
- Excellent strategic thinking skills with a high level of intellectual curiosity.
- Confidence in taking initiative and working creatively and iteratively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to develop and cultivate strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders, volunteers and partnership staff.
- Ability to conduct basic research, data synthesis and reporting. Learning and customer orientation.
- Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, CRMs, Wordpress, database management, etc.
