Job Title: Manager – Summer Creative Camp

Position Type: Part-Time, Temporary (Summer)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 11:00am to 6:00pm

Pay: $25/hr 

Position Overview: Callanwolde is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our team as the Manager of our Summer Art Camp. As a Camp Manager, you will play an essential role in overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for both campers and staff. This is a temporary, part-time position during the summer season. You will report to the Camp Director.


Program Operations:

  • Supervise and support art instructors, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed for successful program delivery.
  • Manage logistics related to supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and emergency procedures.

Staff Management:

  • Manage our team of art instructors and assistants.
  • Assist in leading weekly staff meetings to ensure a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and support to staff members.

Camper Experience:

  • Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for campers.
  • Address any concerns or issues that may arise among campers and provide a supportive environment for their creative growth.
  • Collaborate with parents to ensure a seamless and enjoyable camp experience for campers.


  • Some college experience is required.
  • Previous experience managing a camp or educational program is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Passion for the arts and a commitment to fostering creativity in children.

Offering shared experiences among friends, families, and neighbors, Callanwolde is a treasured living room, studio, school, workspace, kitchen, and park to all we serve. Callanwolde is the former estate of Charles Howard Candler (1878-1957), second president of The Coca-Cola Company. DeKalb County now owns and maintains the property today, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Callanwolde Foundation has operated the Arts Center since 1983.
