Housing Coordinator: Job Description
PCCI facilitates a rapid re-housing program that is an important tool in Metro Atlanta’s response to ending homelessness. Our program model is designed to move a family or individual experiencing homelessness into permanent housing as quickly as possible. PCCI’s Housing Coordinators work directly with clients to help secure housing and to ensure long term stability. The key responsibilities of this position fall within 3 core program components: housing locator services, temporary financial assistance (TFA) and follow-up case management and services.

A detailed job summary is provided below:
Case Management and Follow-Up Services:

  • Develop Individual Service Plan (ISP) in collaboration with program participants that incorporates the unique needs of each household.
  • Assess and work to remove barriers to employment with participants.
  • Partner with community providers of job readiness and interview skills training to ensure participant has all skills needed to obtain and keep employment.
  • Assist participant with navigating benefit programs and eligibility; assist with adherence and needs of participants pertaining to benefit programs.
  • Ensure that the participant has access to resources that are related to benefits, employment, and community-based services so that they can sustain rent payments independently when rental assistance ends.
  • Responsible for entering all client data into federal Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
  • Responsible for maintaining all hardcopy client files.

Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA):

  • Work with household to determine need and eligibility for TFA to secure and maintain housing.
  • Administer financial assistance in a progressive manner to cover allowable move-in costs, deposits, and the rental and/or utility assistance necessary to allow participants to move immediately out of homelessness and to stabilize in permanent housing.
  • Disburse payments to landlords and other vendors and track and manage finances.
  • Administer effective eviction prevention through financial means as necessary.
  • Track cost per participant and other financial data for all participants in the program.

Community Outreach and Education:

  • Works to identify community partners to foster relationships, build coalitions and strengthen connection to resources to support client stability;
  • Participates in community events, meetings and trainings and provide information and updates as needed;
  • Using a database, maintain outreach and education activity records.

Housing Locator Services:

  • Finding safe and appropriate housing units for program participants through housing search activities (i.e. conducting online searches for rental units, canvassing neighborhoods to identify housing units for the program, attending landlord community meetings, etc.).
  • Recruit landlords to provide housing opportunities for participants.
  • Educate property managers on the benefits of the program and negotiate more flexible evaluations of tenant applications to lower barriers to leasing.
  • Maintain mutually beneficial relationship with landlords.
  • Accompany clients to meet with housing management to assist in navigating the rental process.
  • Serve as a point of contact for partner management companies.

Qualifications: Individual must have earned at least a four year degree from an accredited college or university and have at least two years’ experience working with special needs and/or low-income individuals and families in the capacity of case manager or client advocate, or six years of related experience. Strong interpersonal skills and computer proficiency required. Experience with homeless populations and issues related to affordable housing a plus.

Preferred Qualifications: Individuals possessing a four year degree in the field of human services, bi-lingual, or those possessing either an MSW, LCSW or LMSW.


Requirements: Position requires acceptable background and E-Verify checks, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation for the completion of field assignments, working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and internet. Ability to communicate clearly in writing, orally, and via email,
availability to work during normal business hours as well as occasional early, late, and weekend hours, organizational skills, capability of prioritizing and multi-tasking, collaborative work with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders, maintenance and assembly of client files, and ongoing training.

Housing Locator Specialist: Job Description
PCCI facilitates a rapid re-housing program that is an important tool in Metro Atlanta’s response to ending homelessness. Our program model is designed to move a family or individual experiencing homelessness into permanent  housing as quickly as possible. PCCI’s Housing Locator Specialist works directly with public and private properties and landlords to recruit, strengthen and maintain relationships that translate into a pipeline of affordable housing options for our clients. Additionally, Housing Locator Specialist provides direct services to a limited number of clients as outlined in the direct service delivery activities. A detailed job summary is provided below:


Housing Locator Services:

  • Find safe and appropriate housing units for program participants through housing search activities (i.e. visiting prospective properties, conducting online searches for rental units, canvassing neighborhoods to identify housing units for the program, attending landlord community meetings, etc.).
  • Recruit landlords to provide housing opportunities for participants.
  • Educate property managers on the benefits of the program and negotiate more flexible evaluations of tenant applications to lower barriers to leasing.
  • Maintain mutually beneficial relationship with landlords.
  • Accompany clients to meet with housing management to assist in navigating the rental process.
  • Serve as a point of contact for property management companies and landlords.
  • Completes HQS (Housing Quality Standards) inspections of units PCCI clients are preparing to move into.
  • Maintain and regularly update list of property and housing unit leads.

Community Outreach and Education:

  • Work to identify community partners to foster relationships, build partnerships and strengthen connection to resources to support client stability;
  • Participate in community events, meetings and trainings and provide information and updates as needed;
  • Using a database, maintain outreach and education activity records.

Direct Service Delivery Activities:

Administration and Program Supervision:

  • Work directly with Program Manager and Housing Coordinator to coordinate requests for funds on behalf of clients;
  • Work with Program Manager to ensure programmatic and financial compliance with grant terms and conditions;
  • Seek out solutions to enhance and improve program outcomes;
  • Responsible for entering all participant data into federal Homeless
