Job Details

The Georgia Psychological Association (GPA) is seeking an administrative intern to support the Director of Operations in creating continuing education opportunities for psychologists as well as to assist in day-to-day administrative tasks and activities. The goal of the internship is to provide hands-on experience to the interns while exposing them to communications, events, associations and non-profits.

If you’re ready to kickstart your career in management and operations and build real-world experience with event planning, marketing and operations, this is the internship for you.

Established in 1947, the Georgia Psychological Association (GPA) is the state association for all psychologists working or residing in Georgia. Our mission is “Advancing the profession of psychology in Georgia”. Our membership of over 800 psychologists and trainees provides critically needed behavioral health services to consumers and organizations in the state of Georgia.

As a professional association, GPA serves its members by providing continuing education programs for psychologists to keep abreast of the developments in their field and maintain their license to practice psychology in the state of Georgia.  The association helps coordinate and communicate members’ interests in advocacy at the state level, maintains contact with the Georgia Board of Examiners of Psychologists, and stays engaged with issues impacting the profession at the national level.  Once a year the association offers a conference which allows psychologists to participate in continuing education training, network with colleagues and connect with industry resources.  Additionally, membership in the association provides formal leadership training, mentoring opportunities and a referral search to grow their businesses- in addition to the many informal opportunities for psychologists to connect.

To qualify, members must hold a doctoral degree in the field of Psychology. Graduate students in the field of psychology are also eligible for membership, and there is a membership level for retired psychologists.  Psychologists do not need to be licensed in the state of Georgia to become members.
