Salary Range ( $33,000 - $34,000)

We work to improve the region’s health by educating communities, advocating for system improvements, and engaging with stakeholders. SNJPC addresses every element of care, from the individual to the health care system to policymakers.

The Recovery Specialist in the Maternal Wrap Around Program is responsible for providing recovery support and peer coaching to women and their families by constructing a recovery plan, educating and linking them to community resources.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops a recovery plan for women dealing with perinatal substance use
  • Educates clients on how to appropriately navigate treatment, social service, and recovery support systems
  • Acts as a positive role model by sharing experiential knowledge, hope, and skills
  • Maintains relationships in order to assist individuals in the treatment engagement and retention process
  • Reinforces, guides, and ensures clients that recovery is possible and is built on multiple strengths, coping abilities, and resources
  • Assists with providing gaining skills and resources needed to initiate and maintain recovery
  • Assists in establishing and sustaining a social and physical environment supportive of recovery
  • Enhances identification and participation in the recovery community
  • Advocates for appropriate and effective community treatment and recovery
  • Empowers individuals to make self-determined and self-directed choices about their recovery pathway
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency required; Associate’s degree preferred
  • 2 years’ experience in the guiding principles of recovery
  • Knowledge of community and statewide treatment and recovery options
  • Valid driver’s license, current insurance policy and car
  • Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to see to read documents and hear well enough to communicate with others
  • Must be able to write, type on a computer, and use a telephone
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Additional requirements to be determined with input from Director and HR

Work Environment:

Travels regularly to sites where traffic, weather, and other environmental conditions may be encountered; otherwise works in a climate-controlled professional office environment generally free from hazards and other adverse working conditions.
