Position Description

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator assists in overseeing all day-to-day communications needs of CHRIS 180. The primary responsibility will be support to the Marketing & Communications Team while working closely with program leadership and building relationships with community-based organizations, service providers and more to promote CHRIS 180 programs in the community. This position is responsible for executing all communications for revenue-generating programs, coordinating, and planning daily social media content, ordering, and maintaining collateral material and working alongside the Communications Manager and Chief Marketing Officer to craft messages and content for internal communications channels (staff newsletter, presentations, etc.)  Under the guidance of the Communications Manager, this person will coordinate and manage a range of marketing projects for CHRIS 180 programs to better position them in the community. Those projects include but are not limited to social media advertising, external event promotions and presentations, community programming events and more. This person will collaborate with the design team on updating marketing materials and creating/curating digital content to promote CHRIS 180’s programs online.
 

This person will work with the Visual Communications Manager to create a suite of marketing materials for new programs and maintain web presences for new and continuing programs. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will lead administrative efforts for the team and must be able to work in a fast-paced, complex, multi-faceted environment both independently and in a team environment with consistent feedback from various departments. The ability to multi-task yet still meet critical deadlines is a must.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist manager with developing and implementing marketing and promotional plans that drive referrals to revenue-generating programs.
  • Coordinate the process and timeline for marketing team initiatives.
  • Assist with production and editorial calendars.
  • Work with internal teams to write collateral copy and manage review and approval process when applicable.
  • Assist in managing relationships with media outlets and advertising vendors.
  • Assist by tracking and analyzing marketing and social media campaign performance.
  • Build relationships with internal and external constituencies to promote CHRIS 180 Manages all social media platforms with support from manager and consultant (when applicable), with the goal of driving more traffic to our digital assets and increasing awareness, donations, and client referrals.
  • Assist in analyzing social media trends.

Qualifications/Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years marketing/communications experience in a relevant industry (nonprofit experience preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience in creating content for social media.
  • Cultural sensitivity and understanding of diversity.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, social media applications, and emerging media (Canva, Mailchimp, etc.)
  • High level of initiative, problem-solving and project management capabilities; highly organized with meticulous attention to detail 
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and priorities.

Schedule:

Hybrid Role (in office 2-3 per week), daytime & weekend events as needed, flexibility to monitor social media throughout the work week and weekends.
