The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing effective administrative support to the local Region office as well as to the Metro Geographic Area volunteers/staff as a member of a virtual team of administrative assistants. 

Duties and Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to key volunteers and leaders 
  • Serve as a receptionist, greet visitors, answer and direct calls 
  • Assist in planning meetings, programs and events
  • Prepare reports and correspondence including emails, letters, forms, etc.
  • Coordinate logistics including RSVPs, venues, registration, meals, etc.
  • Create and organize meeting materials 
  • Develop and maintain a filing system
  • Organize, store, procure, and manage inventory and supplies 
  • Service and troubleshoot all problems and issues that arise 
  • Provide on-site event support as needed in the Metro Area
  • Collaborate with National staff to provide administrative support to other Regions
  • Participate in meetings/trainings/conference calls with the virtual team
  • Other duties as needed 

Required Knowledge, Education or Experience

  • BA or 2-3 years equivalent experience
  • Proficient in MS Office; database proficiency
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, organized and proactive
  • Experience with managing programming aspects of meetings and events
  • Must be able to travel locally
