The Major Gifts Associate will support and elevate the Major Gifts department’s work in major and principal giving throughout the United States. The Major Gifts Associate will contribute analytical skills, keen judgment, diplomacy, and quick action, coupled with long-term strategic implementation and involvement in all aspects of the Major Gift Department’s operations. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Major Gift Officers (“MGOs”), the Director of Prospect Research, and the Donor Experience team
  • Partner with Donor Experience in the strategic development, creation, and maintenance of high-level donor stewardship materials, updating materials with emerging research and innovations.
  • Collaborate with the MGOs on identifying high-level donor stewardship touchpoints and opportunities
  • Analyze donor giving spreadsheets with the MGOs
  • Navigate sensitive philanthropy conversations with staff and volunteers
  • Partner with MGOs on one-on-one donor meetings, as needed
  • Cross-collaborate with other divisions on needed Major Gift projects
  • Partner with MGOs to strategize and plan for parlor meetings
  • Ensure that all internal and external reporting is impactful, strategic, accurate
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Required Knowledge, Education, Experience

  • BA with two to three years of relevant experience in a fundraising and/or non-profit setting
  • Computer literacy in varied software packages, particularly Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or other donor management software 
  • Experience interacting with high level donors and leadership
  • Experience creating strategic collateral for donor stewardship
  • Experience creating high-level, comprehensive reports
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and proofreading skills
  • Knowledge of best business and development industry practices 
  • Required Skills

  • Self-starter who is organized, flexible, and able to successfully manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Solutions oriented and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to travel on occasion, as needed

Hybrid Schedule
Tuesday and Thursday: Office Days - Required in-office
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: Work from home
