Purpose of Job:

The Finance manager is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization. This role manages the team to include accountants, bookkeepers, and other finance professionals who help make sure that money is being spent properly and that the company’s finances are in order.

The Finance manager is also responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations at the organization to include ensuring that supplies are ordered on time, making sure production schedules are met, or coordinating with vendors to ensure they have the materials they need to do their jobs well.
 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, cash flow and coordination of audit activities as well as accounts payable and receivable. Reconcile financial activities
  • Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements; collate financial reporting materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction
  • Administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes; and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization’s financial status. Implement a robust contracts management and financial management/ reporting system; ensure that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
  • Improve the finance department’s overall policy and procedure manual.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Finance and/or Accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent additional professional experience required
  • Experience in banking and banking resource management
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Experience with accounting software preferred, examples include Quickbooks, Paycor, Concur, etc. preferred
  • Experience with 3rd party vendors to include, Givelify, Paypal, Venmo, Zelle, etc
  • Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve operational efficiency
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
