Overview:  

Noor Family Services (“NFS”) is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization that works to support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in immigrant and refugee communities.  By delivering high quality legal services, case-management, referrals, counseling, and education, NFS fulfills its mission to assist survivors of domestic violence to reach independence and to promote culture change by shifting norms that are used to perpetuate domestic violence.  

Position Summary: Reporting to the Executive Director, this is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about a career in the public sector. This position facilitates outreach activities and supports the operations at NFS and will from time-to-time require weekend outreach activities. Some local driving will be necessary. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field 
  • 2-4 years’ work experience in social services 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence, an understanding of related issues, and a commitment to ending violence against women.  
  • Demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision and attain goals and objectives set forth by grant descriptions.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, evaluate progress, and adjust activities to complete work within established timeframes, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.  
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cooperative relations with a diversity of individuals.  
  • Professional attitude and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  
  • Typing and computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive.  
  • Access to reliable transportation, valid Georgia driver’s license, clean motor vehicle report; willingness to travel locally as needs arise.  
  • Satisfactory criminal background check. 
  • Second language a plus. 
  • Willingness to lift up to 20 pounds.                                             
  • Willingness to work some weekends/evenings to facilitate Outreach Events. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Answer incoming calls and complete intake forms for new clients and clients referred by other agencies and prepare safety plans and lethality assessment. 
  • Represent NFS at community events and festivals. 
  • Give information or make referrals as needed by the client. 
  • Work with clients to explain handbook, policies, protocols, forms, etc. 
  • Coordinate volunteers at various events and activities. 
  • Provide support to staff members in conducting client enrichment activities and support groups for clients. 
  • Assist clients in applying for government benefits. 
  • Attend all scheduled meetings as directed by the Executive Director including weekly staff meetings; prepare minutes for staff meetings and circulate to all staff. 
  • Attend on-site /web-based continuing training and attend Task Force Domestic Violence meetings. 
  • Provide financial assistance, gift cards and other supportive services to our clients. 
  • Pick-up and drop off donated items to NFS clients. 
  • Conduct inventory of in-kind donations. 
  • Assist Executive Director with varied tasks related to client services. 
  • Assist case manager with file management and organization. 
  • Coordinate volunteers at various events and activities. 
  • Enter all client contacts and services in the agency data reporting system (CAP60) 

Job Type: Full-time 

Pay: $36,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
