Job Details

Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP) is seeking an applicant to work as an Intake Specialist.

The successful applicant will assume intake responsibilities on a full-time basis 5 days per week. The Intake Paralegal will answer and return incoming calls assigned to the Intake Workgroup of persons seeking legal assistance from Georgia Legal Services Program. 


  • Screening and interviewing clients
  • Making appointments
  • Assisting clients in completing forms and questionnaires
  • Making referrals to agencies and private attorneys 
  • The input of initial data and updating data in Legal Server 
  • Directing clients to self-help websites


  • Applicants must have the ability to quickly establish a rapport with callers to effectively and efficiently obtain information needed to evaluate prospective clients’ cases. 
  • The ability to identify legal issues
  • Proficiency in the use of computers
  • Good typing skills
  • Ability to operate GLSP office equipment without assistance; proficiency in the use of Legal Server; 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  •  Good track record completing tasks in a timely manner
  • Prior experience as a GLSP paralegal, receptionist, or client pre-screener is a plus
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 
  • Good writing and grammar skills.

 Salary and Benefits:

This is a 35 hour per week position with a starting pay of $30,000, some experience credit may be available.  The program provides generous fringe benefits, including paid holidays, paid time off including parental leave; birthday holiday; health, life, and long and short-term disability insurance; tuition reimbursement up to $2500 per year; 403B with 3% match; GLSP offers a hybrid work schedule that allows staff to work up to 2 days remotely subject to management approval and a probationary employment period.
