Lekotek Atlanta/Tucker Office - 1901 Montreal Rd, Suite 126, Tucker, GA
+ Lekotek Duluth Office - 2250 Satellite Blvd, Suite 125, Duluth, GA
Terms: Full-Time
Hours would be split between working from the Atlanta/Tucker center, and Gwinnett/Duluth center, as well as supporting family programs and events in the community, as needed.
Reports To: Lekotek Site Manager and Executive Director

Requirements: Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
About Us:
Lekotek of Georgia is a nonprofit serving children with disabilities, birth-21, through accessible play opportunities, toy and technology adaptations, camps, clubs, and family/community programs. Currently, children with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, speech-language delays, hearing and visual impairments, genetic disorders, and chronic illness participate in Lekotek programs.
About the Role:
The Lekotek Leader conducts monthly one-hour play/learning sessions for children, ages birth-8, with disabilities and their families. Sessions include using a variety of adapted toys, iPads, and computer equipment. All materials used are loaned until the next session, the following month. Lekotek Leaders develop an ongoing rapport with the family and maintain communication and scheduling for all play sessions. Lekotek Leaders are responsible to maintain notes and inventory of equipment used and loaned. The Lekotek Leader must be knowledgeable about all Lekotek services, adapted play, specialized software tools, and community resources. The Lekotek Leader is responsible for connecting and collaborating with organizations and professionals in the field to build referrals. They may be asked to present to therapy groups and/or exhibit at schools on behalf of Lekotek.
In addition to play/learning sessions, Lekotek Leaders help with computer clubs, summer camp, and family/community programs and events.
*All staff are required to complete a two-week internship held at the Atlanta and Duluth centers. Compensation will be provided for completing this training.
Responsibilities:
· Perform intakes and facility tours for new/potential families
· Schedule and conduct play sessions, in-person and virtually
· Document notes in NEON database system
· Maintain toy and technology inventory, and note equipment loaned
· Review and send out quarterly billing statements
· Support families through sharing of community resources and referrals
· Maintain relationships with referral sources
· Participate in community outreach including resource fairs and expos
· Conduct presentations to community organizations, therapy groups and schools
· Support family/community programs including clubs, music, pet therapy, camps, holiday parties, zoo day, pumpkin patch, fishing, professional sporting events, and theatre performances
· Support three major fundraising events – Golf Tournament, Run, and Brewfest
· Attend monthly staff meetings
· Attend seminars, conferences, and trainings, as needed
· Participate in toy adapting workshops, as needed
Required Experience:
Degree in Special Education or Allied Field (such as OT, PT, ST, Recreation Therapy, Child Life or Early Childhood).
Minimum of 5 years of experience with children with diverse special needs including autism, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, hearing and/or visual impairments, speech-language delays, and genetic disorders.
Familiarity with the benefits of play, adapted toys, and computer and iPad technology designed to meet the needs of children with disabilities.
