CACFP Application and Onboarding Specialist
Department: Nutrition Services
Supervisor: Director
Salary: Based on experience, $39,000 - $45,100
Job Summary
The CACFP Application and Onboarding Specialist is responsible for recruiting and onboarding of child care center participants. An ideal candidate must be detail oriented, organized and able to multitask. The position entails the use of a well-known industry software (KidKare), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and other platforms.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruitment and On-Boarding of New CACFP Programs
- Review and determine eligibility for new program applicants
- Evaluate viability and capability of potential program participants
- Implement the USDA CACFP, including program recruitment and orientation, training, and monitoring initial months of participation
- Maintain adequate records in database and physical/electronic files
- Update provider files with any new changes
- Coordinate field duties with field staff
- Stay current with DECAL regulations and best practices for program participation
Technical Assistance and Training
- Assist with setup and coordination of training activities
- Provide one-to-one technical assistance and training support by phone, email or in-person to programs already in operation
Customer Service
- Manage service collaborations with other agency teams
- Maintain accurate and positive communication with program operators and prospective program operators
- Resolve issues and provide effective and timely customer service
Community Outreach
- Assist in efforts to market QCC sponsorship
- Present introductory information sessions for prospective program operators
- Maintain knowledge of agency resources to which program operators can be referred for additional services and support
- Attend agency and community events that include sponsored and potential program sites, as needed
- Participate in outreach efforts to inform the community about QCC and its nutrition services
Claims processing
- Coordinate claim processing with new child care programs, as needed
- Verify claim documentation, as needed
- Review reports relevant to monthly claims
Administrative
- Work with other team members to ensure that agency and state databases include current and accurate listings for sponsored sites
- Assist in collecting feedback and data to inform agency services assessment
- Perform these responsibilities with the understanding that responsibilities and tasks may be modified or expanded over time
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required but a degree in a related field is preferred
- Good knowledge of child care standards and practices
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to receive and convey detailed information
- Effective organizational skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills (written and oral), and presentation skills
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license and personal transportation required
- Flexibility to work some evening and occasional weekend hours
- Team player
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently with moderate level of supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Infrequent driving
- Consistently standing for two hours or more delivering training
- Sitting at the computer for three hours or more at a time
- Bending, frequent use of hands, stooping and moderate lifting (at least 25 pounds) required
- Noise level in the work environment may be high at times
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Quality Care for Children's Atlanta office is the base location for this position, with flexibility for some home-based work.
