Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, empowers volunteers across the country to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effects and, ultimately, cures.

Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally) is seeking an energetic individual that is eager to work in the non-profit arena and wants a career in development and events.

Job Purpose

Reporting to Rally’s Development & Rally Kid Manager, the candidate will also work directly with the Rally Gulf Coast Director and Development Manager. The candidate must be a servant leader with strong strategic and logistical capabilities and is responsible for development of new partnerships, supporting existing relationships, execution of assigned Rally fundraising programs, coordination of the Gulf Coast Rally Kid Program, and coordination of volunteer efforts.

A great position for someone trained as a Child Life Specialist.  The enthusiastic candidate must have the flexibility to work and thrive in an entrepreneurial, agile environment. They must be committed to Rally’s mission and have a desire to serve our supporters and volunteers with compassion, integrity, and humility.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Programs

  • Leads 4 Quarters 4 Research, 47 Faces of Rally and Rally Fit 47 campaigns for Rally Gulf Coast ensuring revenue goals are met.
  • Leads Rally Good Meal Program.
  • Leads Community Partners program for small to mid-sized relationships.
  • Recruits new business partners, schools, and other groups.
  • Supports the development of and coordinates all volunteer opportunities for Rally Gulf Coast including, but not limited to, Signature Events.

Rally Kid Program

  • Leads engagement efforts of Rally Kids and their families.
  • Coordinates all hospital visits for all staff members and regularly visits Rally Kids and Families while in the hospital.
  • Develops and coordinates meal and snack serving program at the hospital.
  • Coordinates Rally Kids at signature events including Rally on the Runway, Day of Pampering, and Day of Play.

Event Support

  • Provides support to events team for Rally Signature event(s), Rally On the Runway
    1. Project leader for Rally On the Runway pre-show events: Day of Pampering, Day of Play, and Spring Shopping events.
  • Project leader for all Rally Kid focused events and select Community Partner events.

Other Tasks as Assigned

  • At Rally, our culture is to collaborate and approach our role on the team with an “all-hands-on-deck” attitude. This means you may occasionally take on tasks outside the normal scope of your job for which Rally will provide the necessary training.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree- focus in Child Life, Education or related field a plus
  • Exceptional computer literacy- must have full working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Forward thinker; problem solver; organized 

  • Self-motivated and a self-starter 

  • Excellent communication and writing skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis 

  • Strong organizational and research skills 

  • An ability to work as a team as well as independently 

  • Professional demeanor 

  • Eagerness to learn 

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation 

  • Available minimum of 40 hours a week.
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends 

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
