This position is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and evaluating training and development programs as well as conferences and seminars.

  1. Coordinates and maintains the scheduling of training facilities, training, conference registrations, resources, exhibitors, and training instructors.
  2. Provides technical and/or administrative assistance to agencies regarding executive leadership/development and training.
  3. Identifies, develops, and monitors the use of subject matter experts who provide curricular and instructional content for training courses.
  4. Communicates with diverse audiences to provide information and clarification regarding training programs, actions, policies, and procedures.
  5. Develops an on-going resource pool of skilled instructors for training programs and/or conferences/seminars.
  6. Attends planning meetings and networks with law enforcement trainers throughout Georgia and the U.S.
  7. Updates GA POST training records and ensures that all records of training activities are maintained.
  8. Assists with other GACP functions as assigned.

  • Available training resources and programs;
  • Problem-solving methods and techniques;
  • Training or instructional strategies and methodologies;
  • Principles and practices of adult learning and continuing education requirements/mandates;
  • Current training and development trends and resources;
  • Program and project management techniques;
  • Fair use principles and copyright restrictions regarding the development and delivery of training programs.
