The Department of Children and Families (DCF), Office of Education, has an immediate need for a Teacher at the Essex Campus in the following subject matters: 

 

 

* Teacher of the Handicapped

* Teacher of Students with Disabilities

* Preschool through Grade 3

* General Education with a Teacher of Students with Disabilities

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Educational Programs or Assistant Supervisor of Educational Programs, the Teacher will plan, execute and evaluate the lessons and educational experiences of the assigned pupils, class or classes; performing these duties exercising independent judgment and with a comprehensive knowledge of department rules, regulations and policies; does related work. Position is located in Newark, NJ.

 

Please note that schools within OOE have a 12-month school year.

 

SPECIAL NOTE: Experience with teaching special needs and/or at-risk youth preferred.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

 

EDUCATION: Position requires possession of a valid standard teacher certification or valid Certificate of Eligibility (CE) or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) issued by the NJ Department of Education in one (1) or more of the following areas:

 

 

* Teacher of the Handicapped

* Teacher of Students with Disabilities

* Preschool through Grade 3

* General Education with a Teacher of Students with Disabilities

 

 

SPECIAL NOTE: Ability to physically lift, move, and position students as needed.

 

 

 

LICENSE: Possession of valid Standard Certificate issued by the State Board of Examiners of the New Jersey Department of Education with an endorsement in subject area(s) determined appropriate by the Appointing Authority.

SALARY: $58,031.09 - $94,376.42 commensurate with certificate and experience.
