Job Details

Under the supervision of the Director of Engagement, the Community Engagement Manager works as part of a strategic team to increase cross-sector collaboration with partners and stakeholders, build community awareness for Coalition initiatives with a focus on health equity, including health literacy and COVID-19 and influenza vaccines.

The Gwinnett Coalition (Coalition) is a growing 501c3 nonprofit organization with a vision of fostering equity and prosperity in Gwinnett. The Coalition works alongside members of local government, the business community, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and concerned citizens to champion health equity, mental and behavioral health, and nonprofit capacity building to advance health and well-being for all Gwinnettians.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Community Engagement Coordinators

Salary

  • $65,000 plus depending on qualifications

General Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Community Engagement Coordinators
  • Serve as a community advocate for Coalition initiatives; facilitate engagement throughout Gwinnett County:
    • Plan and execute outreach events and activities Participate in community events to leverage partnerships and collaborations
    • Connect community members to appropriate resources and services via community engagement, education, training, and support
    • Address vaccine hesitancy and health literacy challenges within target communities
  • Identify and build relationships with community-based organizations and other partners to advance Coalition goals, including health literacy and COVID-19 and influenza vaccine equity
  • Assist Director of Engagement in designing, developing, and maintaining project accountability metrics (KPIs) that measure overall engagement, success, and/or impacts
  • Plan, develop, implement, and analyze community relations campaigns, marketing/communications efforts, and events with an emphasis on health literacy and vaccine equity
  • Stay abreast of COVID-19, influenza, and heath equity trends
  • Produce content for newsletters, press releases, email campaigns, and social media
  • Manage website content, ensuring content is accurate, on-brand, and engaging
  • Maintain online, public-facing calendars
  • Other related duties, as assigned

  • Strong analytic writing and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in creating presentations and conducting training sessions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Fibery (or similar work management platform)
  • Able to work well in a team environment, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of best practices for writing and publishing on different platforms
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and make independent decisions in a changing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organization skills
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends as necessary

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience and success in engaging with the Gwinnett community and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Public relations/media relations/community relations experience
  • Experience with content management systems, marketing analytics, and email marketing tools
  • Graphic design skills (Canva or Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Familiarity with utilizing social media to promote engagement
  • Experience using client relationship management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce
  • Experience working with an external marketing agency
  • Proficient in Spanish, written and spoken

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Management, Health Communications, or a related/relevant field and 3+ years of relevant full-time experience

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and/or move items and materials to perform job duties
