Job Details

The Director of Resource Development will lead the development and implementation of plans that provide the Coalition the necessary resources to achieve its strategic goals while providing organizational leadership in the areas of grant management and fundraising. The DRD reports to the President and CEO and is responsible for maintaining and increasing organizational resources, prospect identification, and stewardship of investors and donors. The DRD works collaboratively with Coalition colleagues to optimize resource development opportunities that fuel the Coalition’s impact on the community.

The Gwinnett Coalition (Coalition) is a growing 501c3 nonprofit organization with a vision of fostering equity and prosperity in Gwinnett. The Coalition works alongside members of local government, the business community, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and concerned citizens to champion health equity, mental and behavioral health, and nonprofit capacity building to advance health and well-being for all Gwinnettians.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Currently none; future growth planned

Salary

  • $70,000 plus depending on qualifications

General Responsibilities

  • Develop a holistic resource development plan including establishing and implementing goals, benchmarks, action plans, and success measures
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from individual, corporate, and foundation prospects
  • Maintain accurate donor and solicitation data, including the archiving of all solicitations and proposals, within approved donor management system and other CRM tools
  • In partnership with the Director of Engagement, create and execute campaign strategies (e.g. appeal letters, digital development, publications, etc.)
  • Develop and implement methods to appropriately acknowledge and recognize donors and supporters
  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising and special events
  • Increase resources through grant research and proposal writing
  • Oversee grants awarded to ensure compliance with grant requirements and timely reporting
  • Develop policies and procedures relevant to the resource development function
  • Evaluate and analyze all resource development efforts and develop, with senior staff, appropriate strategies to address and improve results
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Grant management experience, including proposal writing and reporting
  • Event planning and fundraising experience
  • Superior professional judgment, including analyzing complex situations, problem-solving, decision-making, and mediating conflict
  • Flexible and adaptable leader who can work at the strategic and tactical levels
  • Experience working and interacting effectively with diverse populations

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to think strategically, balanced with an attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated history of success in successful grant applications and management
  • Ability to create and use appropriate metrics to ensure progress and productivity
  • Experience with client/stakeholder databases or CRM platforms

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s degree and/or CFRE certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional and/or related experience and demonstrated success in a development role

Physical Requirements

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move items and materials to perform job duties
