Staff Accountant

The Westside Future Fund, Inc. (“WFF”), a not-for-profit organization, was founded by leading Atlanta corporations, the Atlanta mayor, and other local organizations to revitalize the Historic Westside neighborhoods of English Avenue, Vine City, Ashview Heights (also includes “Just Us” and the “Historic Booker T. Washington Neighborhood”) and the Atlanta University Center. WFF has an overall vision to help develop “A community Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would be proud to call home.”

Position Description: The staff accountant will be responsible for recording activity for operating residential properties, receivables, accounts payable, and other day-to-day accounting operations as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely payment
• Deposit and record receipts for donations, investment loans, and single-family rent payments
• Import monthly net activity from third-party property manager into Yardi (accounting software) and resolve reporting variances with property manager as needed
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income variance reports for assigned properties
• Assist with job cost reporting as needed
• Assist with the annual audit by preparing audit schedules as requested
• Other accounting duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills:
• Solid understanding of the accounts payable process
• Experience reconciling balance sheet accounts and recording depreciation of assets
• Detailed oriented, organized, and able to prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Eagerness to learn and work collaboratively with team members
• Impeccable ethics
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Yardi experience preferred
• Compassion for people and desire to build inclusive community

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required
• 1-3 years of Accounting Experience Required
