Job Details
The Program Manager is responsible for the watchful oversight of HOC Jr, the Child Caring Institute for House of Cherith. The Manager is responsible for monitoring the residents’ needs and ensuring that appropriate services are being provided and arranged for in order to meet those needs. Duties include, but are not limited to; the coordination of the facility’s admission evaluation; the development of the service and Room, Board and watchful oversight plans; case work services as provided in the resident’s plan; monitoring of the resident’s educational and or vocational needs. Manager will engage in public relations activities to link the program with the community. Manager will support the guiding principles of House of Cherith at all times.
The Program Manager will report to the Executive Director of House of Cherith.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for implementing residential program and standards for residents in care to meet the individual needs and goals of the resident in the areas of safety, well- being and permanency
- Oversee and ensure that all reporting is completed for DFCS/DJJ and other agencies
- Oversee activities so that the safety and security requirements for residents are met
- Review any daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly requirements for DFCS and/or DJJ to ensure they are met and HOC remains in compliance
- Oversight for daily operations in the residence, in the absence of HSP
- Review 7 and 30 day Individual Service Plans for the residents with the HSP
- Prepare monthly Child Summary Report and submit to DFCS Oversight of all record keeping and confidentiality procedures including monthly chart audit
- Responsible for all record keeping and confidentiality procedures
- Development of Quality Assurance Plan to ensure background checks and documentation
- Develop staff skills and competencies through training
- Responsible for supervision of HSP, House Supervisor, and Volunteers
- Provide positive role modeling to the staff
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings
- Promote Positive image of the agency at all times
- Respond to requests for information from community partners in a timely fashion Work as a contributing and collaborative team member
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, childhood education, education counseling and psychology, or a related field preferred
- May also qualify with a Bachelor's degree in the field as noted above along with a minimum four years relevant experience in the field of child care with a behavioral health focus.
- Trauma training and experience.
- Possess an awareness of community social services and the referral process.
- Have current evidence of successful completion of a biennial training program in CPR and a triennial training program in first aid which have been offered by a certified or licensed health care professional within the first year of employment.
- Must be able to pass criminal background check fingerprinting and 5-year MVR and any requirements from DHS/DFCS
- Must have an active driver’s license
- Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities
