Job Details

The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping the way our organization is perceived by key audiences. You will drive brand awareness by being involved in all stages of the communications process from concept to message development to result-oriented evaluation. The Communications Manager is ideal for those with a passion for nonprofit marketing and communications. This position will be responsible for all social media and communications content and the overall marketing and marketing strategy for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual cross-channel marketing and communications plan
  • Write, design, and manage all communication materials including monthly newsletter, annual report, and collateral marketing material 
  • Use social media and newsletters to tell our story in creative and inspiring ways that resonate with various audiences
  • Report on the effectiveness of social media and marketing campaigns
  • Manage website content with relevant information to ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly
  • Manage media relations and develop contacts with media members, influencers, and community leaders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and experience
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with internal as well as external audiences
  • Ability to evaluate needs and develop processes to fill them
  • Strong administrative skills and excellent follow through
  • A passion for meeting new people, working closely with a team, and working in a collaborative work environment
  • Experience with technologies including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Wordpress, MailChimp, and social media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
  • Photography & videography skills to capture the visual storytelling of our work
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply

Requirements

  • Requires the physical mobility to sit or walk for moderate periods of time and to occasionally carry or lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to work some evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Must have a driver’s license, reliable source of transportation, and ability to travel to program locations or events as needed
