The Vice President, IT (VPIT), will be a key part of the executive leadership team.  The position is a leader for the information technology department and will oversee creating and managing a reliable and secure IT infrastructure as well as effective, comprehensive IT support services, related technology strategies and operational standards.   This position will develop and articulate the operations and service management vision of the organization.

The VPIT, Operations reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Works to strategize, manage, integrate, and coordinate the overall IT direction and strategy.

Works collaboratively to influence decisions and outcomes and facilitates consensus.

Builds and manages a comprehensive data management system supporting the entire organization.

Ensures IT service delivery processes including maintenance, operational support, optimization, business continuity, and quality management.

Serves as the expert liaison between IT and other support departments such as Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.

Lead and support the IT Communication Plan including communication to the organization as a whole, as well as, internally to IT staff.

Oversee the IT budgeting process including the operational and 5-7-year capital budget.

Establishes the strategic direction of the company’s information systems (IS); executes this strategy in collaboration with company leadership.

Directs and coordinates professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, and programming of information, communication, and office automation systems.

Identifies and recommends new technologies and services that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations; reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization.

Approves the purchase, rent, lease, license, or other acquisition of hardware, software, or services needed to meet company needs.

Monitors and reports progress on development projects, resource utilization, and production performance to executive leadership.

Ensures the integrity and reliability of computerized information systems, communication systems, and office systems including the security of data acquired and stored.

Facilitates preparation of project plans and proposals, outlining project objectives, IS requirements, and analytical and programming staffing requirements for proposed systems.

Maintains pace with technological progress, economic change, and company needs by directing continual improvements of IS staff, equipment, and procedures.

Prepares, implements, and executes IS budget.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Collaborate with Human Resources to implement strategies to grow and develop the IS workforce, including new and emerging skills needed. 

 

Qualifications

Bachelor ‘s degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in computer science or related field, master’s degree preferred in computer science or related field.

Master's degree is strongly preferred.

Ten years of progressively responsible IT operations and service leadership related experience in a health system organization.

Demonstrated success and expertise in broad information technology healthcare leadership, including improving customer satisfaction, project management, evaluating innovative advanced technology, managing fiscal performance, and partnering with clinical and business stakeholders.
