Program Manager

VOX ATL’s Program Manager is a person with a passion for youth development and the ability to work with teen leaders. This person must work well in an intergenerational environment and understand and promote VOX ATL’s mission. VOX ATL’s Program Manager will work with the Executive Director, Board, volunteers, and staff, and manage the Program Coordinator. This position requires discretion and personal judgment in strategizing, managing, implementing, and evaluating VOX ATL’s programs

Role Overview 

VOX ATL is seeking an experienced and energetic person to join our team as Program Manager. The Program Manager will be responsible for facilitating VOX ATL’s programs, and supporting activities such as events planning and coordination, community and partnership outreach and development, curriculum development, and completing administrative tasks related to the work. This hands-on leadership opportunity is best suited for a self-starting individual who has a passion and heart for youth development, and experience delivering training and educational content to teens. The ideal candidate has experience in youth-serving organizations and/or education, is process-oriented, creative, detailed, compassionate, and adaptable.

Responsibilities of this position

Program Management 

  • Manage recruitment, training, and retention of VOX Teens
  • Develop, lead, and implement a comprehensive program strategy and engaging curriculum for VOX Teen programming
  • Manage regular communications with teens, parents, and other community stakeholders about VOX ATL’s  programming, events, and workshops, including VOX ATL’s summer programming
  • Foster and maintain relationships with targeted education partners including school advisory boards, administrators, and teachers
  • Recruit and train teaching artists to support VOX Programming including Atlanta Teen Voices, Atlanta Word Works, and VOX Media Cafe
  • Collaborate with Program Coordinator to oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of VOX ATL Volunteers
  • Collaborate with VOX Mission Director to coordinate staff and volunteer coverage to support earned income opportunities
  • Develop and maintain VOX’s Teen Resource Guide
  • Organize and lead training to develop teens as leaders including teen on-boarding, orientations, off-boarding, and community event planning
  • Collaborate with Publishing Director to update, maintain, and implement VOX Media Cafe curriculum
  • Secure all required teen resources including supplies, food, MARTA, etc.

     

Curriculum Development

  • Develop, update, and modify a tailored written program curriculum to meet emergent needs and evolve the curriculum based on observations and participant feedback
  • Monitor individual participant progress; support teen participants in the completion of assigned projects
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations, school systems, community entities to recruit program participants
  • Document and maintain VOX ATL program processes and activities within the program

Data Collection & Evaluation

  • Collect, synthesize, and analyze program outcomes regarding teen participation, leadership and publication
  • Deliver evaluation to teen participants at year-end and VOX Media Cafe participants at program close
  • Analyze data for all program offerings at mid-year and year-end, as well as provide information for fundraising reports as needed
  • Participate in and create new methods for data collection with VOX ATL program team
  • Provide ongoing evaluation metrics in preparation for board meetings and VOX ATL’s annual impact report
  • Lead annual continuous quality assessment process based on Georgia After School Youth Development standards 

Crisis Management & Social-Emotional Support 

  • Establish and update best practices for crisis management and social-emotional support in the VOX space
  • Assist teens in working through crisis situations, provide resource brokering to teens as needed

Required Skills and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; minimum three years work experience in youth-related direct service
  • Passionate about VOX ATL’s mission and comfortable collaborating with uncensored teens
  • Must be comfortable managing others, and working with a diverse group of teenagers and adults
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written (must be able to effectively communicate VOX ATL’s mission, vision, impact, and case for support)
  • Superior time management skills and the ability to meet competing deadlines
  • Must work well individually and with a team
  • Ability to manage all responsibilities listed above

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Previous work experience in Social Work, and/or Counseling
  • Experience with change, crisis, and conflict management
  • Experience with Canva,  Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress and Google Analytics are a plus

Schedule and Compensation

  • Hybrid work schedule, Tuesday - Saturday in-office schedule at our downtown program office. Includes required evening and Saturday work, allows for flexibility outside of program hours
  • Salary: $60,000- $65,000 depending on experience
  • Benefits: 70% medical covered by employer or FSA matching, dental and vision insurance, with 75% covered by employer, access to 401K, professional development, parking pass or MARTA pass, flexible paid time off + office closures
  • Upon successful completion of a 90-day probationary period, access to 3% 401K matching contributions
