About Us

Established in 2009, drawchange is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering impoverished children using art therapy-based programming. Our programs instill coping skills that foster Self-esteem, Imagination, Collaboration, Empowerment, Dream-building, Creation, and Stress-Relief. Our vision is to provide the tools necessary, so each child has the ability to fully express themselves. In using the research-based principles of integrating the arts in the general curriculum, we increase self-esteem and thinking skills in children to help them realize their fullest potential of emerging from poverty and becoming anything they want to be!

Position

The ideal candidate has compassion, understanding and dedication to our mission, possesses a strategic mindset with an innovative approach to business planning, and is a dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership:

●  Oversee the daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction of strategy, compliance, quality assurance, and program efficiency

●  Maintain a climate that attracts and retains a talented and diverse staff

●  Identify and implement staffing requirements for efficient operations, maintaining a strong culture and work climate that attracts and retains staff, and drives the organization’s mission

Management:

●  Annually create a strategic organizational plan and overall budget

●  Coordinate and lead annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews

●  Approves major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control

●  Ensures that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet and exceed strategic goals and objectives

Governance:

●  Oversees and reports on the organization’s results for board of directors.

●  Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.

●  Work closely with board of directors and committees, informing, assessing, and addressing issues that affect the organization

●  Comply with all federal, state, and local legislation

Development:

●  Create and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations to facilitate success of organization's financial future

●  Develop an actionable plan for fundraising and managing monthly cash flow

●  Maintain existing grant writing schedule and develop additional potential

Skills and Education Requirements

●  Strong public relations skills

●  Successful fundraising and development experience

●  Proven success working with a board of directors

●  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Management preferred

●  5 or more years of non-profit experience in an operational environment

●  5 or more years management or supervisory experience
