About K2L:

Kidz2Leaders (K2L) is a nonprofit ministry that exists to break the cycle of incarceration by providing stability, opportunity, and a Christian community for children of inmates and their families. We help them rise above their circumstances, teach them to become leaders, and provide a life of hope through Christian programming and a loving environment.

Camp Hope, an annual, six-day overnight camp, begins at age eight and is the entry point into more than a decade of program opportunities for our youth. The program continuum expands to include leadership development, career and life skills training, higher education scholarships, individual mentoring, alumni relations, and family support services.

The Director of Community Relations is tasked with generating partnerships to source new volunteers, new program participants, and in-kind resources for the ministry. In addition, this person serves as a member of staff leadership, supporting the overall growth and strategic direction of K2L.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a recruitment plan to solicit both new and returning individual volunteers and groups from churches, youth groups, community organizations, schools, etc.
  • Communicate with staff to identify and promote the volunteer roles needed each season.
  • Identify schools, ministries, and service providers that work with children of inmates to source potential new program participants for K2L.
  • Work with parents/caregivers and K2L program team to support the process of new participant enrollment.
  • Identify key businesses and community organizations that may be strong resource partners for K2L and work to develop relationships with key leaders.
  • Speak generally on behalf of Kidz2Leaders to organizations throughout Metro-Atlanta.

Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting a nonprofit organization/church/ministry as a volunteer or staff member.
  • Mature Christian faith and experience/comfort in church settings (as relevant for partnership development)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience and confidence with public speaking skills to groups of all sizes.
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability for evening and weekend work as needed for presentations/programs.

Company

Kidz2Leaders exists to break the cycle of incarceration by providing stability, opportunity and a Christian community for children of inmates. We accomplish this by helping them rise above their circumstances, empowering them to become leaders, and providing a life of hope through intentional, faith-based programming in a loving environment.

Our 10-year program continuum is designed to cultivate long-term, supportive relationships, beginning with children at age eight and serving them and their families through young adulthood. We believe it is only through this long-term commitment that can we truly end generational incarceration. Young adults who complete our decade of programming are on a trajectory toward living their lives free from incarceration and contributing positively to their communities.
