Village, Program Coordinator

36 hours weekly; based in employee's home office

The Program Coordinator inspires and leads in the development of a startup program – modeled after the Village concept – to support and engage East Point citizens to live vibrant lives connected with neighbors.

The Village, its Board members, its staff, and its volunteers will:

  • Assist older persons and persons with disabilities in maintaining maximal independence;
  • Support them to age in place;
  • Provide activities that engage them in their communities;
  • Coordinate screened volunteers in giving direct aid;
  • Maintain a registry of screened service providers;
  • Monitor community conditions and mobilizes resources to advocate for needed change and services;
  • Offer educational programs to give consumers informed choice and improved health and well-being options;
  • Provide information and referral.

Duties:

Provide direct support to Village Board

Work to recruit and manage volunteers for Village committees:

  • Startup Workgroup
  • Marketing
  • Membership
  • Volunteer
  • Programs and Services
  • Fundraising

Develop resources – volunteers, members, collaborators, donors, potential vendors – by:

  • making presentations
  • direct recruitment efforts
  • holding community forums
  • implementing social media posts
  • developing working relationships with community organizations
  • developing and distributing marketing and outreach materials
  • obtaining existing lists of service providers that other organizations have already vetted

Oversee financial record-keeping and draft reports for funders

Develop budget and fundraising plans

Recruit, train, deploy, and supervise volunteers

Manage vendor vetting process

Oversee membership intake functions]

Develop menu of services needed and identify resources to fulfill needs

Maintain working knowledge of existing services and relationship with information and referral resources

Manage Village tracking database of services

Coordinate continuous quality improvement efforts, establish goals, timelines, and evaluate progress

Ensure member-centered operations

Other duties as assigned, in furtherance of Village objectives and goals
