Greater Than Expectations, Inc. is a Dallas-based non-profit specializing in programming to support youth aging out of foster care. Our mission is to educate youth from foster care, equipping them with the essential tools necessary to transform their lives and discover their potential as leaders and change-makers in a challenging world. Greater Than Expectations was born of a childhood dream to do more so that kids who have become a part of the foster care system know that they can ultimately be more than their current circumstances.

About the Role

The Digital Marketing internship at Greater Than Expectations is a unique opportunity that allows an intern to gain the experience needed to excel in digital marketing or social media management. The Digital Marketing intern will be responsible for tracking and reporting on social media and website traffic analytics, building the quarterly Greater Than Expectations Newsletter and creating social media posts, captions, and schedules. This position will work closely with members of the GTE Board and our branding specialist to brainstorm and implement social media posts and other digital marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities include:

• Create compelling social media content that encourages engagement on all platforms
• Research statistics and other compelling facts to share on social media and in our quarterly newsletter
• Measure and report on campaign analytics and website traffic and prepare reports for GTE Board Meetings
• Collaborate with the GTE brand specialist to develop graphics and other media to share on social media
• Work with the GTE Board of Directors to align on the upcoming social media campaign idea
• Support the logistics for the Defying the Odds web show series
• Other duties as needed

About You

You are a current college student or recent college graduate who desires to work in social media or digital marketing. You have an eye for creative detail and a flair for creating exciting content that produces engagement. You are organized and productive and an expert at planning your time. You are reliable, flexible, and focused. You embrace technology as a tool to enhance your work. You can commit to 10 hours per month and at least three social media posts to all platforms per week. Foster care alum will be given preference, but all are welcome to apply.
