Metro-Atlanta based Organization is seeking a full time Business Development Director that will report directly to the CEO and oversee a variety of business development and fundraising activities for the organization and its subsidiaries. This position requires excellent networking skills, keen attention to detail, sound judgment and decision-making ability, time management expertise and the ability to be proactive and take initiative. They will have substantial fundraising and management experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing funds from business partners, statutory sources, foundations, trusts and major donors. Individual should possess energy, enthusiasm and the ability to be innovative to work hard and achieve ambitious targets. 

This role will require a combination of remote work as well as in-person duties, therefore reliable transportation will be needed. This position may require evenings and weekends as needed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential business partners and funders
  • Develop and maintain partner and donor relationships
  • Coordinate with team to develop mutually beneficial proposals
  • Negotiate contract terms with partners and communicate with stakeholders
  • Increase brand awareness and recognition
  • Set goals and develop plans for business and revenue growth
  • Monitor deliverables to ensure contracts and grants are executed as agreed
  • Gather useful information and background information on potential funders
  • Track, identify and add qualified prospects to development pipeline
  • Make and give presentations to prospective partners and external executives
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business
  • Track and report on the status of proposals and funding
  • Conduct ongoing market research
  • Drive the entire funding process from start to finish
  • Research, prepare and submit grants proposals 
  • Organize events and campaigns to raise money and other kinds of donations for the organization and its subsidiaries.
  • Design promotional materials and increase awareness of an organization's work, goals, and financial needs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development or Fundraising role
  • Demonstrable track record of strategic fundraising and income growth within an organization
  • Experience working with for profit and non-profit organizations as this role would require both
  • Minimum of 5 years within a nonprofit or related business development experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Successful, significant and relevant achievement at management level in a comparable national/international organization.
  • Experience utilizing the strength of an organization brand for charity/business development
  • Proven track record of meeting challenging income targets
  • Proven ability to build, manage and develop key stakeholder, client and donor relationships.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic and business plans
  • Proven track record in fundraising that has directly resulted in increased income for an organization
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an awareness of cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse audiences
  • Proficiency in Apple (iOS), Microsoft, and Adobe applications required
  • Experience with Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce or similar donor/CRM software a plus
  • Self-starter that shows initiative
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule and willingness to travel as requested

Salary commensurate with experience.
