PROGRAM DIRECTOR


JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the VP of Programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBBSMA) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Director of Programs to join the agency at its headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

 


The Director will ensure that there is efficient and effective coordination across all Program models in our portfolio, that each program funded by a grant meets and exceeds its goals, that program outcomes are consistently monitored and attained, and that there are excellent systems for inter-department and inter-agency communication and collaboration. The Program Director will supervise the Customer Relations department for Programs along with program positions that serve across program types to include some Program Specialists. The Program Director will also serve as the lead of our Regional Mentoring Program team. The Program Director will take the lead on creation and implementation of tracking progress towards outcomes for all Program types will work collaboratively with all sub-grantees to ensure data-sharing, progress monitoring, and consistent communication.

• A desire to work cross functionally across departments and an ability to see connections and areas to streamline and standardize internal processes to make for efficiencies in the work and our delivery of service to our stakeholders
• Have proven influencing and relationship building skills with internal and external partners and people from various backgrounds and cultures

 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide leadership to the Customer Relations department to ensure intake of program participants and completion of applications are clear, efficient and effective processes
• Provide leadership to cross functional Program Specialists to ensure they are cross trained and assigned to strategic areas of need within our Portfolio of Programs
• Provide leadership and continued program development to our Regional Mentoring Program team, an innovative program model where we offer all Program types coordinated in one region, by one team
• Serve as a connector and bridge across Program types to seek to find areas to build consistency in processes
• Ensure expectations of all grants are clearly explained and reinforced with all appropriate team members
• Train staff on policies and procedures for each grant
• Manage the administration of all grant deliverables and grant reporting
• Collaborate with partnering agencies and departments and lead the cadence of meetings with planned agendas, data sharing, and next steps
• Provide feedback and peer-to-peer learning and training opportunities based on Program data
• Serve as the liaison between the Program Department and all other agency departments regarding all grant deliverables, activities, and accounting to include Finance and External Relations
• Stay informed with the Finance Department to ensure grants are properly budgeted, spending is properly recorded, staff’s time is properly recorded, and spending is fulfilled on all line items
• Represent the agency at all required grant meetings internally and externally
• Serve as the agency representative with each grant funder or parent organization

 


QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Sciences, or related disciplines preferred.
• Minimum of five to seven years' experience managing people, projects and programs.
• Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Office (specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Experience with CRM software systems a plus.

 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Routine office environment.
• Flexible, hybrid work schedule as created with the Director, as determined by best hours and location to meet program participant needs.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
• Base salary is budgeted between $65,000 – 75,000, based on experience.
