The Membership Manager ensures that members find value in their contributions, that they are part of the MODA community, that they are recognized for their investment in the museum, and that they have the opportunity to participate in exclusive experiences.

The Membership Manager serves as members' first and closest contact, ensuring that they receive regular communications and assistance when difficulties arise. The Membership Manager also leads the rest of the MODA team in providing exemplary visitor services, inviting visitors to become members, and training other team members to communicate about and sell memberships.

  • Collaborates with Executive Director and Director of Development to set annual and monthly membership goals
  • Creates and implements strategy and tactics for meeting annual and monthly membership goals

  • Produces a monthly (or more frequent) electronic newsletter that keeps members up-to-date on all that's happening at MODA, invites them to get involved, and makes them feel like part of MODA's community
  • Evaluates membership program to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Plans, creates, and executes all direct mail, email, and online marketing to support sales and renewals of memberships in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Prepares and presents appropriate monthly reports on membership statistics including, but not limited to, member renewals, member acquisitions, member upgrades, and membership cancellations.

  • Researches membership practices and trends at other institutions in order to ensure that MODA is a leader in the field
  • Is a member of the Atlanta Membership Roundtable and attends meetings
  • Represents MODA externally and internally.
  • Collaborates with Development Director in order to ensure that membership is part of MODA’s broader fundraising strategy and that the museum is effectively able to turn members into donors
  • Assists with and attends VIP events, exhibition openings, lectures, and other events at which members will be in attendance.
  • Manages the Wild Apricot MODA database and all platforms on which members are noted or recognized including importing members to MyMODA, noting memberships in Bloomerang, and ensuring the function of member discounts on Square.
  • Manages the digital membership card system and ensures accuracy.

As an important “face” of the museum, the Membership Manager also provides outstanding visitor experiences and is a leader in creating a friendly, welcoming, and informative environment for all Museum visitors. As such, the Membership Manager assists with:

Equal Opportunity Employer

Diversity, Equity, Access, and Inclusion is one of the core values we hold close to our business practices. MODA is committed to affording equal opportunities to qualified individuals regardless of race, color, gender, gender identity, genetics, military/veteran status, pregnancy, religion, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry, disability, or any other basis prohibited by applicable laws.

Our Mission

MODA's mission is to advance the understanding and appreciation of design as the convergence of creativity and functionality through exhibitions, education, and programming for visitors of all ages.

Our Vision

We pursue our mission because we envision a world that celebrates design as a creative force that inspires change, transforms lives, and makes the world a better place.

Our History

MODA is the only museum in the Southeast dedicated exclusively to the study and celebration of all things design. Formed in 1989 as the Atlanta International Museum of Art & Design, MODA has grown and evolved over the years to become the Southeast’s only design museum.

In 2011, MODA moved to its current home in the heart of the Midtown Arts District. This transition has been critical to the Museum’s recent success, offering premium street visibility and immediate proximity to the city’s most important arts organizations.

MODA strives to bring more design to Atlanta everyday. The work of our staff and board of directors is structured by two research questions:

  • What is the museum of the 21st century?

  • Can a design museum change the world?

We're interested in having these conversations with constituents and colleagues near and far.
