Job Details

Intown Collaborative Ministries is seeking applicants for its full-time Director of Homeless Services position. Intown is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to prevent and reverse homelessness and hunger in Intown Atlanta. Since its founding in 2010, Intown has grown to be a leader in homeless outreach and food security in the Atlanta community. Intown’s homeless outreach program is guided by a Housing First and Harm Reduction philosophy and has grown to be the largest and most effective team in the City of Atlanta.  The Director of Homeless Services will join an experienced, successful, and energetic team while, leading with wisdom as well as compassion.

The Director of Homeless Services oversees grants and programming. Director of Homeless Services will work with the program manager of homeless outreach and the outreach program Team Leaders towards the program goals of engaging, assessing, enrolling, and navigating people experiencing homelessness from the streets to permanent housing with needed supports. This includes program development, execution, evaluation, and expansion. This individual must be flexible, innovative, and adept at creative problem solving.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years working in homeless services is required
  • 3-5 years working in the mental/behavioral health and/or substance abuse field is required
  • 3-5 years as a hands-on supervisor is required
  • Proficiency with Client Track or another HMIS is required
  • Grant management experience is required
  • Experience with Housing First, Harm Reduction, and client-centered care is required
  • A passion for connecting with people experiencing chronic homelessness—is required
  • Clinical License—Licensed Clinical Social Worker preferred, but not required
  • Certified Peer Specialists and individuals with lived experience are encouraged to apply

Director of Homeless Services Responsibilities:

  • Ensure overall program compliance for homeless outreach programs and grants
  • Directly supervise and support the homeless outreach team comprised of the Program Manager of homeless services, Team Leaders, Certified Peer Specialists, and Case Managers
  • Work alongside the Leadership Team to develop programs and projects to support the current work and expansion of the outreach program
  • Alongside the program manager, identify gaps in the system for program development and expansion
  • Attend, participate, and represent Intown in CoC committee meetings pertaining to homeless services and systemic changes
  • Represent Intown in educational opportunities in the community as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with well-aligned agencies
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to clearly and effectively communicate programmatic outcomes with funders and community supporters
  • With program leadership, troubleshoot barriers for any client issues that arise
  • Educate current and potential funders on Intown’s homeless services program model, program outcomes and program successes
  • Participate in annual COC Point in Time count
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Status

The Director of Homeless Services position is a full-time, salaried position. This person will report to the Executive Director.

Work Hours

Most work will take place during normal business hours (between 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.) but will also include some evening, early morning, and, occasionally, weekend hours. There is some flexibility in start- and end-time and possible administrative work-from-home days.
