Overview: The Family Support Manager is an integral member of HMHBGA’s Special Projects and Innovations Department collaborating with cross-functional team members to advance the organization’s strategic goals aimed at improving maternal and infant health. The department is comprised of three (3) teams, perinatal education, workforce development, and family support. Each team member shares a passion for providing culturally relevant and responsive educational resources and support services to individuals living across the State of Georgia. We are currently seeking a manager to lead the Family Support team, reporting to the Director of Special Projects and Innovations, and managing a team of five (5) Family Support Coordinators. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for working alongside the Director to ensure successful resource generation, planning, implementation, and evaluation of HMHBGA’s newly created Family Support offerings. This includes but is not limited to HMHBGA’s Black Birthing Initiative, Multi-Intervention Project and other service delivery models as assigned. These programs offer free virtual and in person doula/childbirth education services, health assessments, classes, and resources to populations that experience significant health inequities.

To succeed in this role, the Manager will have a vigor for problem solving, case management, supervision, compliance, and evaluation together with exceptional emotional intelligence and empathy to create a robust adult learning environment for diverse stakeholder groups. The Family Support Manager will have the ability to work alongside internal and external partners to identify trends in the perinatal workforce to ensure our programs are culturally relevant, responsive, and accessible to our target populations. Additionally, they will have a passion for maternal and infant health issues with a keen understanding of systematic and social barriers that affect the health outcomes of moms, birthers, and babies. Additional skills/duties of the Family Support Manager include:

• Work alongside the Director to design, implement and evaluate the implementation plan for the BBI/MIS.

• Manage all aspects of assigned programs including personnel, budget, outcomes, contract compliance, and strategic planning.

• Monitor and evaluate the workflows of each element of the program to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of participant services.

• Ensure high quality and effective program outcomes for participants by providing training, supervision of staff, monitoring of outcomes, development of standard operating procedures and implementation of the program tracks.

• Work alongside the Director to coordinate and review financial information to prioritize and direct staffing, resource allocation and objectives

• Initiate and direct changes to increase efficiency and meet objectives

• Enforce rules and procedures for auditing, procurement, financial reporting and legal compliance

• Understand and comply with all program contract requirements, including timely and accurate submission of reports

• Coordinate with and build sustaining relationships with external vendors and partners and constantly develop new partnerships

• Ensure accreditation, maintenance and safety programs are current and accurate

• Provide direct management, supervision and support to the Family Support Coordinators and interns,

• Maintains relationships and acts as a liaison with internal/external stakeholders.

• Leads the development of internal and external steering committees to help with program planning, evaluation, and sustainability.

• Plan and coordinate regular working group and subgroup meetings.

• Responsible for achieving and monitoring program performance goals and contractual requirements.

• Assists with preparing the team for certification audits.

• Perform other duties as assigned and necessary for successful program administration and delivery.

Minimum Qualifications.

• Master’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, or comparable field. Bachelor’s degree accepted with a demonstrated track record of three (3) or more years in a comparable role in the nonprofit sector.

• Must be dedicated to improving maternal and infant health in Georgia with a demonstrated commitment to health equity.

• Proven ability to conduct program evaluation, including the design of evaluation plan, tools, and implementation.

• Expert level written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of service and response.

• Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment.

• Ability to assist, support, and encourage Family Support coordinators, interns and other assigned staff in problem solving, prioritizing tasks, defining goals, and producing positive results.

• Must be willing to travel throughout Georgia (20%-30%)

Skills:

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Canva

• Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability

• Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal and organizational skills

• Excellent facilitation and customer service skills

• Minimum of two years of experience in program and team management

• Must be dedicated to improving maternal and infant health in Georgia

• Familiarity in working with cloud-based systems including SharePoint and Google Drive.

• Analyzes and clearly documents data to make comparisons and draw conclusions.

• Identifies cause and effect relationships to solve complex problems.

• Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex ideas and findings through oral and written communication.

Preferred:

• Prior knowledge of maternal and infant health topics relevant to moms, birth givers, their supports and clinical providers and perinatal supports

• Ability to speak another language is an asset

• 2+ years in case management.

• 4+ years in a similar role.

• Master's degree in Education, Public Health or Health Studies, or related field.

• Childbirth education, lactation, or doula certification a plus

• Project management experience.
