Early Intervention Teacher

Fulton Academy of Science and Technology is hiring an Intervention Teacher capable of employing intervention strategies and differentiated instruction in order to re-mediate student learning gaps.

About Us: Serving a diverse population of students in K-8, the mission of Fulton Academy of Science and Technology (FAST) is to provide an education based on innovation, design thinking and problem-solving with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to children in the Fulton County community. About You: As a teacher you will engage in:

• Developing age and content appropriate lessons aligned to the FAST core curriculum
• Experience with working with progress monitoring tools and data analysis of testing to inform learning
• Working in intervention capacities
• Providing a classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area
• Actively engaging in the RTI process
• Helping students gain critical, creative and problem solving skills
• Using both push in and pull out models of instruction
• Working with general education teachers to coordinate strategies and cover material being covered in the classroom
• Overseeing assessments to monitor student performance to identify weaknesses and monitor growth.
• Supporting and participating in school wide activities
• Effectively communicating with parents and caregivers
• Supporting FAST’s mission and vision
• Creating a positive educational climate

Education and Training:

• A minimum of four year Bachelor degree required.
• A degree in education
• Special education certification preferred
• Experience working with struggling children who are on Tier II and Tier III levels
• Valid Georgia Teaching Certification in applicable field required, or must be eligible to hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate
• Two years of demonstrated success as a full-time elementary classroom teacher preferred
