Job Details
The Drake House is a non-profit agency serving homeless single mothers and their children through
housing and empowerment programs. The Roswell-based organization is vibrant and growing, with an
operational budget exceeding $1,750,000 and assets valued at almost $5,000,000. Reporting to the
Director of Finance Compliance of the organization, this position will be responsible for the
day-to-day processing of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities, including functional
responsibility over accounting, outsourced payroll and grants administration. They will ensure that
The Drake House, The Drake Village and The Drake Closets have the systems and procedures in place
to support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits.
Responsibilities:
• Assure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions
• Monitor budget vs actual performance for all organizational entities
• Record all revenue, including gift cards and in-kind, and make deposits to the appropriate bank
accounts
• Track all income including donations, sales income/cost of goods sold, grants, fundraising,
and rents
• Record and track all pledges and accounts receivable
• Monitor the addition, disposal and depreciation of fixed assets
• Monitor bank balances, capital reserves and temporarily restricted net assets
• Prepare all general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable entries
• Ensure all vendor invoices are properly approved and the goods/services received prior to
making payment
• Prepare sales tax returns and pay sales tax monthly and prepare and mail Form 1099s annually
• Export and prepare financial transactions recorded from third-party platforms to import into
Sales Force weekly
• Create monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and prepare specific reports as requested by
the board, staff, and audit firm on a timely basis
• Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and completion of the IRS Form 990
• Maintain confidentiality and proper storage of records
• Follow all Financial Policies, Procedures, and Processes
• Assist the Director of Finance Compliance with the grant process and reporting requirements
Qualifications:
This is an opportunity for a person with three to five years of accounting and finance experience.
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and unwavering commitment to The Drake House mission
are critical. Solid experience coordinating audit activities, financial management, reporting,
accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and accounting for investments. Experience
in QuickBooks Non-Profit and Microsoft Office (Excel) required and Sales Force a plus. Strong
written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical skills necessary. Accounting
experience required.
Part-time up to 25 hours per week
