Salary is commensurate with experience; base + commission; generous benefits package listed below.

Position Summary 

The Events & Booking Associate supports the Facilities Sales & Booking Manager in soliciting private event business, event planning, and supplying overall end to end support to clients for all Lawrenceville Arts Center (LAC) events. This role handles organizing and supporting records and related paperwork in concert with LAC partners. 

 
Position Responsibilities 

Book the LAC as a venue for private groups, including social, corporate, faith-based, and performing arts. 

Research, identify, and contact prospective user groups to initiate sales efforts.  

Respond to inquiries, negotiate pricing, and deliver sales proposals with the highest level of client service to cultivate client retention and develop strong relationships.  

Conduct site visits as needed, collaborate with all facility departments to ensure successful site tours 

Work with staff to ensure the event spaces are appropriately scheduled, resourced and staffed. 

Aid staff as needed in the set-up and management of LAC facilities. 

Manage related paperwork and schedules for outside rentals. 

Maintain files and records of all current and historical projects. 

Knowledge of and ability to apply basic analytical, math, and accounting skills. 

Coordinate event requirements with caterers, clients and necessary internal departments. 

Communicate problems and proposed solutions to management. Coordinate event requirements with caterers, clients and necessary internal departments. 

Frequent evening and weekend hours required. Holiday work may be needed. 

 

Qualifications: 

1-3 years' experience in event sales/management, preferably with an arena, convention center, hotel, or other similar public assembly facility. 

College degree preferred, but not required.  

Bilingual required  

Knowledge and appreciation of performing arts and/or music industry experience preferred. 

Exceptional attention to detail with organizational skills 

Ability to negotiate, influence and sell prospective clients. 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated and results oriented. 

Customer service focused, proactive, positive attitude with guests, staff and co-workers. 

Demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. 

Passion for event planning and the ability to provide excellence in event production. 

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, VenueOps (or similar booking software), WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred 

Strong verbal and written communication skills 

Any successful applicant must have and maintain a current Driver's License

About Our Organization

In 1996, Aurora Theatre was established in a converted hardware store in the suburbs of Atlanta. The City of Lawrenceville, GA recognized the positive economic impact the arts have on its community and invited Aurora Theatre to serve as the cornerstone for their revitalization plans. In a unique partnership between city government, private development and a non-profit charity, the city purchased a 100-year-old church and together with Aurora Theatre transformed the space into a $7.5 million theatre complex, which opened in May of 2007. Now, Aurora Theatre houses 2 performance spaces, boasts 5,000 season ticket holders, produces over 850 events annually and entertains 80,000 visitors. The Peach State Federal Credit Union Mainstage Signature Series is comprised of the biggest Broadway plays and musicals. The GGC Harvel Lab Series produces exciting contemporary theatre.
