POSITION: Volunteer Program Manager

SALARY: $36.84/hour ($76,630 annualized) plus excellent benefits, including 3 weeks each of vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Also have fully paid health and dental insurance benefits with daily paid hour lunch.

REPORTS TO: Associate Director of Supportive Housing/Community Services

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position will develop, continue to expand, and oversee the volunteer services at Conard House. Expansion includes the growth of the Conard House-Digital Literacy Program which provides group and individual digital literacy training, education, basic computer skills, social media applications. community engagement, and supportive service. The program strives to provide a welcoming environment for all volunteers and foster a sense of community and collaboration across departments. QUALIFICAITONS: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of experience and an additional two years of experience in program management and specifically volunteer program management. Experience with volunteers, community-based organizations, and low-income communities preferred. Demonstrate strong written, verbal, technical, interpersonal, and public communication skills to establish and maintain program objectives, policies and procedures, and effective partnerships/working relationships within all organizational levels and external agencies. Ability to work as a team member towards common goals and objectives. Must travel to different locations in San Francisco. Personal vehicle is not required. Work flexible hours as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and work with databases required. Bi-lingual proficiency is strongly preferred. After a conditional offer of hire, a criminal background check must be reviewed. All newly hired employees are required to be up to date on their vaccinations, though medical and religious exemptions are reviewed upon request.

DUTIES:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the volunteer program including recruitment, orientation, schedule, retention, recognition, and termination of volunteers.
  • Supervise volunteer department staff, including established Digital Literacy Specialist position.
  • Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Orient and train volunteers to provide digital literacy classes and other supportive services based on site needs. Deploy volunteers to programs as needed.
  • Provide leadership, management, and maintain volunteer database of the programs.
  • Oversee, maintain, and adjust the SF connected schedule to accommodate client needs in digital literacy.
  • Create and disseminate marketing materials to recruit volunteers. Work with outside providers to recruit volunteers including public presentations.
  • Collaborate with Program Directors/Management team to identify program volunteer needs. Schedule and deploy volunteers.
  • Market and implement five-hour tablet training. Deploy volunteers to agency sites.
  • Recruit and schedule community speakers public/private from technology companies, job fair, and community building activities.
  • Maintain and modify the volunteer program manual.
  • Develop and disseminate volunteer program materials to all work sites and outside agencies.
  • Design group activities that promote social connection opportunities for consumers.
  • Collect & compile data for distribution of monthly reports and input data into an online database.
  • Maintain a classroom environment suitable for collaborative learning.
  • Assist in re-opening the Tech Café to host large group classes for our digital literacy support services.
  • All other duties as assigned.
