The Youth Program Manager is a key member of The Drake House team and provides a focus on the learning and enrichment activities for elementary, middle and high school children residing at The Drake House and The Drake Village. This position is responsible for developing each child’s strengths and interests while promoting family engagement for complimentary learning.  This includes school in-service day programming, quarterly parent/family activities, and biweekly teen life skills programs and field trips.  The Youth Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the after-school and teen programs, through assigned staff members, interns, and volunteer assistance in classroom and outdoor activities.  The Youth Program Manager is also responsible for working with the Director of Youth Programs to manage and grow all aspects of the Youth Programming department in an open, honest, and trustworthy manner.

Primary job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and motivate paid part-time staff in delivery of student programs
  • Maintain all Bright from the Start regulatory requirements
  • Communicate directly with families regarding programming updates
  • Manage volunteer staff to provide daily tutoring for the completion of homework and school projects for all grades, and for teens on Mondays and Thursdays to include ACT/SAT prep.
  • Provide enrichment activities to boost academic skills and provide exposure to varied extracurricular topics.
  • Assist The Drake House Youth Program Director regarding supply needs, and volunteer support in all areas of programming
  • Serve as class instructor as scheduled or needed. Establish rapport and open communication with resident youth. This includes classroom conduct guidelines and confidentiality in sharing boundaries.
  • Organize Monday Night programs, field trips, and special events
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce data for all children.
  • Maintain all program and employee files and operations manual
  • Stay informed on latest learning trends/techniques relevant to our student residents
  • Attend TDH Staff meetings, Program meetings, and events as requested Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.


  • College degree and 5+ years’ experience working in children’s education/enrichment Experience working within a non-profit is preferred Must display an enthusiastic passion for the Drake House mission Must be service-minded, demonstrate a genuine concern and empathy for the needs of others Must have desire and ability to involve parents in child enrichment activities Must be able to relate effectively to school age children at various levels from elementary through high school Must be able to build authentic trust relationships Must be able to effectively manage children’s behavior Must be efficient and organized, with a high attention to detail Must present a professional demeanor in personal interactions Ability to work both individually and on teams Self-starter with ability to establish priorities and manage multiple assignments Effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills. Must display effective time management skills Must be able to work in fast-paced environment and display flexibility/adaptability as priorities shift Must display a sense of urgency in addressing problems/needs Must be able to communicate and relate effectively with a variety of individuals, of all ages, treating each person with politeness, diplomacy, respect, and courtesy Must have safety consciousness Microsoft 365 proficiency is a MUST
