Job Details

The Director for Strategic Giving drives cultivation and stewardship of donations for key seminary priorities, including Thriving in Ministry, major giving for strategic seminary-wide initiatives, and strategic campaigns. The Director is responsible for identifying new donors and funds that match with the seminary’s vision and mission. This position reports to the Vice President for Advancement.

Successful candidates for this position are donor-centric, mission-driven, collaborative, and have demonstrable results in fundraising and donor development.

About the qualifications

Minimum qualifications and preferences for this position include:

  • College degree, BA/BS
  • Minimum of five years of successful experience working in fundraising and/or grants development
  • Experience in comprehensive capital campaigns preferred
  • Advanced degree in relevant field preferred
  • CFRE preferred

Columbia Seminary employees currently work in the office three days a week.
