About the Green New Deal Network (GNDN)

GNDN unites diverse national organizations and allied local coalitions across states, tribal nations, and in commonwealths & territories to win local, state, and federal Green New Deal legislation. The GNDN members are working in concert to build a powerful organizing, policy, and political campaign to demand and win bold change.

Overview

The Executive Coordinator will support the National Director and senior leadership by providing expert organizational and administrative support. The Executive Coordinator will report to the National Director. This is a full-time, exempt position. 

Essential Functions

Administrative Support (60%)

  • Actively manage (or support) calendaring and scheduling for the National Director, including scheduling and coordinating logistics of meetings and events, such as senior leadership retreats; provide scheduling support to senior leadership as requested. 

     

    Maintain a strong awareness of executive relationships, internal and external, and the ability to handle confidential information with sensitivity, care, and discretion; work collaboratively with senior leadership.

    Process expenses of the National Director and act as a delegate to review/approve expense reports of the National Director's direct reports. 

    Provide support in the preparation of documents and presentations.
    Attend meetings as requested, including taking and distributing notes as appropriate. 
    Support the coordination and execution of special projects and initiatives; create individual project plans, set timeline expectations, regularly communicate status, and ensure that projects are completed and managed for success. 
  • Participate in ongoing education on topics of interest pertaining to this position, including but not limited to feedback, emotional intelligence, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

     

 

Fundraising Support (20%)

 

  • Assist with donor relations, donor communications, and grant applications and reports.

     

    Provide high-level donor event planning and execution support. 

     

 

Coordinating Team/Program Support (20%)

 

  • Assist Coordinating Team members by providing informational materials and coordinating new Coordinating Team member orientation.

     

    Plan and support the execution of Coordinating Team meetings, including scheduling, preparing and gathering documents for review, distributing materials, and notetaking.

     

    Maintain and update the Coordinating Team member lists and decision log. 

     

 

Required Experience, Skills, and Characteristics

 

  • 3-5 years of prior relevant experience as an executive assistant, or relevant position, ideally in a high-performing nonprofit or start-up team;

     

    Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills;

     

    Track record of project management, including internal and external projects with numerous moving parts and people;

     

    Extremely proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms);

     

    A collaborative approach, interpersonal relational skills, and desire to succeed as a member of a team;

     

    Attention to detail, including design, presentation, consistency, and accuracy;

     

    Ability to possess patience and urgency at once; 

     

    Demonstrate excellent judgment and maintains discretion in handling confidential information; and

     

    Desire and ability to contribute to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work culture that encourages and celebrates differences.

     

 

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Characteristics

 

  • An understanding of American politics, grassroots movements, climate policy, racial and social justice, the legislative process, and the context in which we operate.

     

 

Location and Working Conditions

 

This position is remote. This position is expected to work Monday through Friday, 10 am - 6 pm ET, but hours are flexible. There is occasional travel for work-related responsibilities and needs.

Compensation and Benefits Package: The annual salary range for the Executive Coordinator, depending on experience, is $65,500 - $78,500. The GNDN provides a generous benefits package, including health, vision, and dental insurance; vacation, sick, and personal time off; a retirement plan; and other benefits.
