Do you want to be part of a dynamic, growing organization? Clubhouse Atlanta is seeking a full-time Social Services Practitioner to provide psychosocial rehabilitation services to adults living with mental illness in accordance with the standards of Clubhouse International (clubhouse-intl.org/).
Clubhouse Atlanta supports adult members (program participants) on their journey of recovery and reintegration into the community. The Social Services Practitioner works in partnership with the Clubhouse members and the Executive Director.
The Social Services Practitioner helps members meet their needs for employment, housing, education, friendship, structure, and stability with specific emphasis on Clubhouse Atlanta’s “Work through Recovery” initiative.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Human Service field and minimum of (4) years of previous experience serving adults with mental illness. Prior case management experience a plus but is not required.
Additional Requirements
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
- Must be willing, and able, to attend a required Clubhouse International training for two (2) weeks out of the state, and all required trainings within the state
- Possess a valid Georgia driver’s license
- Pass a criminal background check

- Ability to understand and implement the core standards of Clubhouse International
- Ability to work as a team with all members and staff of the Clubhouse
- Ability and willingness to participate in all tasks related to the Work Ordered Day
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, creativity and belief in the wellness and the potential of every member
- Ability to professionally communicate in writing and orally within the Clubhouse and in the community
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Social Services Practitioner is responsible for the engagement of members, in all operational aspects of Clubhouse Atlanta, according to Clubhouse International model of psychosocial rehabilitation. Together with other members and staff, the Social Services Practitioner is responsible for assisting members with their participation in meaningful work and relationships as well as developing and attaining vocational, educational, housing, and social goals.
SUPERVISION
Reports directly to the Executive Director.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
- All Clubhouse Atlanta staff share employment, holiday, weekend, evening, and unit responsibilities.
- Conduct onsite job training and coverage for members in the Transitional Employment (TE) and Supportive Employment (SE) programs
- Assist members with resume development, interview skills, job searches and support members in keeping their jobAssist members with application, registration, financial aid, linkage to school supports and any other supports necessary to succeed
- Guide groups of members in work units at the Clubhouse involved in operating the program while modeling a strong work ethic
- Help members set and achieve personal, career and wellness goals
- Identify/use community, healthcare, and social service resources that promote member well-being, independence, and personal satisfaction Encourage peer-to-peer relationships and interaction among the member Conduct outreach activities at community organizations and the business community to increase membership and visibility Participate with members and staff in a collaborative decision-making process while encouraging members to take leadership roles
- Performs other related duties as requested by the Clubhouse Administration
