First Coast No More Homeless Pets is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable, accessible veterinary care from two state-of-the-art facilities serving Duval County and Northeast Florida, including one of the largest spay/neuter clinics in the country.  We support a team of 16 dedicated veterinarians that care for more than 90,000 pets each year.

Volunteer Manager

Scope and Purpose

FCNMHP is looking for an organized, energetic, people person for our Volunteer Manager position. The Volunteer Manager will design, implement, and sustain a program of volunteers that meets the needs of people, animals, team members and the community that FCNMHP serves. Key areas of focus include volunteer recruiting, leadership training, supervising, encouraging, and monitoring.

As our Volunteer Manager, you get to:

  • Assist the Chief Development Officer and other team members in creating a strategic direction for the day-to-day management and future growth of the Volunteer Program.
  • Work closely with department leads to identify volunteer positions, and develop a volunteer leadership structure, tied to meeting organizational needs.
  • Develop marketing tools to recruit the volunteers necessary to meet those needs.
  • Improve our system for communicating and scheduling volunteers.
  • Supervise and evaluate volunteer performance.
  • Organize an effective volunteer recognition and reward system.
  • Measure and optimize volunteer retention.
  • Develop and monitor volunteer orientation and training programs.
  • Monitor and analyze volunteer hours relative to organization goals.

  • You establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization and with outside constituencies. 
  • You enjoy working with a group of volunteers and clients that have a wide range of life experiences.
  • You have honed your writing and speaking skills and use them to compel individuals to action, and engage businesses and community groups as part of the recruiting process.
  • You aren’t someone who spends a lot of time in the weeds, but you know volunteers expect you to be organized, prepared, detail-oriented and to follow through on promises.
  • People are inspired by your determination.
  • You bring people in line with a vision and motivate them to reach goals.
  • You enjoy working with a group of volunteers and clients that have a wide range of life experiences.
